Connected Drive Service Subscriptions
So, according to the BMW Connected Drive Store found in bmwusa.com after logging in, it's telling me my subscribed services including:
assisted e-call teleservice connected drive services advanced real-time traffic information remote services connected+ will expire 9/18, and it appears they want a re-up payment of $24 to continue these services. I think Ive only used the remote services so far, and thats been totally unsatisfactory since the connected drive app continues to auto launch every time I drive the car.. Quite annoying and caused me to uninstall it. So, they want $24 to extend a year.. Have you guys renewed? Im thinking maybe in case of an accident or other untoward event, having the relevant data forwarded to the relevant parties might be useful. Then again, this whole thing might be viewed as little more than an overt money grab offering services that are anything but necessary. Thoughts?

$24 is a no-brainer for RTTI. Remote services helps you get into your car if you misplaced a key. The rest seems useless but I'd still renew. Seems like a pretty good deal for the cost of few hamburgers.

I just took a look at mine, and it's not set to expire until 11/08/2021. You can see from my signature that this is exactly 4 years and 1 week after I picked up my car . I wonder why you lost out on 3 years included?

The data from any accident is automatically stored in the cars computer these days, many refer to it as the blackbox. Law enforcement and insurance companies use this data to investigate serious accidents.
Other than the real time traffic information I have not used any of the connected services but the real time traffic works well so I am sure I will pay the 24 bucks to have access to it and the other services just in case. |

I have a 2018 and mine (specifically BMW Connected+) is expiring too a year after I took ownership.
$24 is a no brainer to me as was previously stated. I'm always checking to see if I locked the car, doing the ventilation thing, honking the horn remotely to scare the wife, etc, etc.. ...well worth the price of admission... |

You guys that only have 1 year should go complain to your dealerships. I think it is something they have to fill out / process to get it to 4 years? Mine is through 2021 as well.
The only thing not through 2021 for me is the "Connected+" - that expires in 2018, and will cost me $24 to extend.

Mine is a 2018 I ordered and took delivery end of March this year.
Everything except for Connected+ is set to expire 4yrs from purchase date for me. Connected+ is set for 1yr. It IS something the dealer has to setup, because I remember my dealer emailed me after I took delivery and was like "oh crap, I forgot to setup your BMW Assist Account for you". I just checked the email and he told me everything is for 4 years too. Personally, I'm gonna let everything expire and only renew it if I end up missing something that I use. I don't even know what any of the stuff does in the first place and doubt I've ever used any of it. |

Took delivery of my car in Oct 2016 its a 2017 model. My connected drive account shows them all good until 10-2020. What is does show are options to add Connected Drive plus for $24 a year and Concierge for $100. Perhaps what your getting notified for is the plus option which is described on the site as the following pretty useless services:
BMW Connected+ is an update of the personalization function in the vehicle and the display of smartphone content on the Control Display in the BMW, facilitating the display of information and control of functions even more. Benefits at a glance: Send my Routes to Car: Route planning from the smartphone is now simpler than ever. Share Live Trip Status: “When will you get there?” - this question is a thing of the past with the new function. Navigate Door-to-Door: Navigating down to the last few meters to the destination (Last Mile) and then back from there later to the vehicle (First Mile). My Destinations: Quick access to the contents of your address book from all linked in end-user devices. Last edited by pruettfan; 08-10-2018 at 01:12 AM.. |

Whoa.. Just logged back into the connected drive web site and now it says the subscriptions are good through 2021! Maybe it just needed to refresh/update, but its all good now.

And to be clear for me it was ONLY the Connected+ that was expiring all others were into 2021.
Looks like many of the remote features I use are covered elsewhere though if I am reading this correctly the destination upload from the phone to the car is included as a Connected+ feature?? - I have used this feature several times and is quite handy...
