There's a very noticeable difference in handling over the standard 788: 1. Tires are definitely stickier than MPSS. 2. Better steering feel and response. Not sure if this is just the tires or the wheel and tire combo. I have a feeling these cars will stay right up there with the 1M as a "best of BMW" for many years. Regardless, I'm enjoying the hell out this car. I hope I can replace it with something that has the same bang-for-buck after I run this one into the ground. |

After I switched to the winterset of wheels yesterday I gave the 788Ms a nice wash and some sleeves to store them for the winter... car is also washed and stored in the garage so I can watch it while making some diner for the family...

This may be my last manual transmission car ever, so I figured I'd support the cause...

They're the apex EC-7 flow formed. I originally purchased them for track wheels but I decided to make them street wheels and keep the OEM wheels for the track. I know ... I know it doesn't make sense 🤣

Dropped her off at the dealership for a new wheel bearing, rear passenger side. Had the front passenger replaced as well, but it was so loud that I couldn't hear the rear one...

Oh, I should have pointed out both bearings are due to me going over a curb at warp speed . This is a loud car but the shot bearings where VERY loud. Like a very obvious grinding noise that gets louder with speed. Just drove a mile from the dealership back today I immediately noticed the car was so much quieter. 6k miles on my car.

Put on the winters. Happy with the look, just too much stretch for my tastes. Really wanted 245s at most since this is my daily and we get lots of snow here. Tried to install my wife's new winter wheels as well...they sent the wrong bolt patern.. have to deal with that now. gave the 788ms a good cleaning. Also took the opportunity to clean the calipers with the wheels off. The new wheels feel light if that makes sense.
