Mine lands the 27th! Excited, but no idea how long the port/compliance process takes, was given a 2 week estimate but hopefully faster since there is no embargo on the release date. What have you guys been told how long the port/after dock process takes? I'll be in the city so it won't need to be shipped anywhere.
Depends on the weather and how backed up they are. My car cleared and was at the dealers within 3 working days.

It's actually now at Port Kembla!

Not going to change a single thing.

If you are thinking of changing the suspension, which I have done more than a few times on older cars, never go with lowering springs. The reduced travel always results in a worse outcome, especially for a car that already has performance suspension. I have had both H&R and Eibach. You will convince yourself if feels better in the short term, then start to dislike it, then put the stock springs back on and realise what a mistake it all was. Coilovers maintain the travel but do your research. Some of them are so bloody hard that day to day driving becomes a misery. Some are better at both ride and handling than stock.

Yup, I know what you mean. I had Eibach springs on my 135 and mostly didn't mind them, but the reduced travel is a concern. I'm just not a fan of the stock ride height.

M2 is a fair bit lower than a 135. I think it looks “just right”. You live in Sydney right? There’s going to be a lot of scraping as every bloody speed bump seems to have been reengineered for SUV drivers these days.

Very true re: Sydney roads, maybe I will be patient and hold on the suspension for a little while and see how it goes.

Any guesses on what the M2C will be worth in 4 years?

According to BMW internal red book the 2016 M2 is only worth about 46k now

46k? 50% loss of value over 2 and a half years is dismal and i somewhat doubt thats the market value of these cars

realistically, i think the cheaper 16's are in the high 60's, low 70's range. maybe mid 60's after some negotiations?

i suspect the s55 to be in line with depreciation of any other M car, so 60%ish loss over 3/4 years. as with the OG, nothing special about them relative to any other Ms

Sounds about right for BMWs these days!! Car manufacturers are constantly upgrading their range... makes each year's model worth less and less by the day

The ship is moored in Melbourne and currently unloading!! My car (fingers crossed) is hopefully being unloaded.

The real question now is will I be condemned to BMW purgatory like sam10123....

Since I'm registering mine out of state and bought it unregistered, I can't actually register it in QLD until the VIN details appear in NEVDIS. Was going to fly down and attach plates and drive off.

Do you know if your car has been fully cleared/VIN entered etc? I remember someone else car was being "homologated" I think that whole process must be done now since it's only for a whole class of vehicles (the new competition), so hopefully all our cars are quickly released from here on out.

The delay is something to do with the government needing to clear the car for sale. Mine is back to end of next week now.

Hi Everyone,
I am new to the forum. Was recommended to check out this forum by my car dealer. Just two weeks ago, I was in Brighton BMW hoping to check out the HS colour on the M2C but the loan car from BMW Australia was no longer in the showroom. Was told if I wanted to order one, it would likely take 4 months before it is delivered and even then it could be longer wait as I wanted the Performance Brake which is all on hold due to short supply.
Last week, I heard from a friend that the same BMW Australia M2C loan car was at Melbourne BMW showroom for a VIP function. I pop in at lunch time to check it out and M Specialist guy was nice enough to take me out for a spin in it as I wanted to hear the exhaust. I end up ordering one and to my surprise, I was allocated a car which matches the specs that I wanted and the car is already here at the port. Guess it was my lucky day! Looking forward to collecting it soon.

Yes, there are still quite a few allocations all around Australia for cars that have just arrived

How's everyone's car going at the port? Mine is currently awaiting its compliance process.

I suspect we are all in that queue, mine arrived at port on Saturday. Sounds like the first shipment got held up as they hadn't yet approved the car for sale in Aus.

I am not expecting to see mine till mid next week at the earliest, but miracles do happen.
