Apex - please verify if these will work
Hi,
The wheel situation for my M2C (US spec with big brakes) is confusing to say the least. If I want to track/TT and potentially autocross my M2C, will these ARC-8's work? Is this square set up recommended over staggered for handling like it was on my E92 M? If so, how bad will the car push if I can't (per the rules) add any front camber? The link below also states that these wheels are flow formed. Please advise! TIA! Front & Rear: 19x9.5” ET33 with 265/35-19 tires M2C recommended fitment. Available in ARC-8 design only. At least 3mm front spacers required for suspension clearance. Front negative camber may be required. https://www.apexraceparts.com/wheels...c-8-wheel.html

Phantom_9192,
Happy to jump in here. The M2 competition is a fantastic car. However, the new brakes on the M2 are quite massive and do require 19" wheels. Our 19" ARC-8 wheels are a great choice for your car and all APEX wheels, including the ARC-8 wheel are produced using the Flow-Forming technique. The 19x9.5" ET33 is a great square fitment for your M2C as it reduces understeer and gives the car a bit more balance. Additionally, you have the ability to effectively rotate your tires, increasing their longevity. This fitment will require at least a 3mm spacer is needed to clear your suspension up front, but no spacer is needed in the rear. Depending on your ride height and tire brand/compound, negative camber may also be needed. Here is a photo of a standard M2 with our 19" ARC-8 wheels for context: With that said, we are in the works of releasing 19" M2C specific fitments in our EC-7 design. These new wheels will mimic our very popular 18" FL-5 M2 fitment and will be offered in the following sizes:
If you have any questions about our 19" ARC-8 wheels, or would like to dive deeper into the best fitment for your car, be sure to send us a PM or give us a call. -Matt

Matt,
Just to clarify, you will not be releasing a 10" rear fitment with an offset between 33-40mm? Still hoping for an Apex solution to SCCA autox rules for street class.

Like many BMW’s in factory form, even the M2C is plagued with understeer. For enthusiasts looking to maximize the car’s handling potential, while mitigating the consumable cost of tires, 19x9.5” on all four corners as a square fitment is a great option. -Matt

Looks like it's going to be 763Ms or OZ wheels at this point.

So the alternate path is to buy a set of those Apex wheels for street use and just use the stock ones for street class for now.

Any Advice?
OK, need some advice and/or clarification. I was looking at purchasing new wheels for my 2018 LCI M2. Wanted to go bigger tires (wider). Did a lot of reading and based on some limitations by what color, type (e.g. split spoke) and the concave look I prefer, my choices were much more narrower than I liked. I was looking at VMR V710ff 19”. Very nice wheels! But the more I looked to get wider tread, although fitment was possible, the trade-offs were problematic. Clearances, lower profile, offsets, cost, weight etc.
I had concerns with my 11’ 335’s 18” tires lower profiles and then going to 19” on my M2 did not help with my reservations regarding the lower profile tires. The look is nice, but the susceptibility of the rims to damage is a concern. I do not think the tradeoff with the “ride” and “look” was worth it. So I happened upon Apex. A little more expensive and although they are starting to provide 19” wheels for the M2 (especially with the M2C and their bigger brakes), I continued to be concerned with the lower profile tires. So, I read up on Apex’s 18” offerings and the rationale behind going to 18”. So, I decided to purchase Apex wheels with the color, type (e.g. split spoke) and the concave look of the FL-5 18x9.5 et28 and 18x10.5 et40. I received some outstanding help from one of their fitment specialist that has pointed me towards 265/35/18 and 285/35/18 (SUGGESTED). We also discussed the ALTERNATE fitment as well with another phone call. My question is as I looked at the specs for the suggested tires, I noted that there were closer tire “heights” comparing the original 245/35/19 and 265/35/19’s to the alternate 275/35/18 and 295/35/18’s. The concern is with regard to the fender clearance issues with the alternate (see chart below). * Size Dia/Hgt. Width STOCK Front 245/35/19 25.8 9.6 Rear 265/35/19 26.3 10.4 SUGGESTED Front 265/35/18 25.3 10.4 Rear 285/35/18 25.9 11.2 ALTERNATE Front 275/35/18 25.6 10.8 Rear 295/35/18 26.1 11.6 * Tires will be Michelin Sport Pilot 4S’s The question I have, is there anyone out there that is using either the “Suggested” or “Alternate” configurations with FL-5 (or similar wheel) 18x9.5 et28 and 18x10.5 et40? If so, you thoughts and experiences to either of these tire fitments.
