Lowering The Control Display

Greetings,

Would someone be kind enough to let me know the proper way to lower the Control Display for the M2C? I have not been able to discern the proper method to accomplish this task and I do not believe that it is described in the Owner's Manual.

Thanks for the assist,
JayHT

P.S. What a wonderful car the M2C is. This is my first BMW and was long overdue, I have up to now been driving Volvos. No comparison between the two vehicles and there is no reason there should be other than great safety records.

The iDrive screen is fixed. It can not be lowered.

You can shut it off in one of the options menus, but like Dan said, it doesn't move.

I could lower the screen on my Audi (A6) but it took me about 3 months to find the button.

New federal laws prohibit this.

The screen is too high in current bmw s. Having a hard time with them too. Really dislike them. Porsche and VW have them in the perfect spot IMHO. OP interesting to know that others also prefer less obstructed view.

Agree. Took me a while to get used to it. At first it kept creeping into my sight.

I'm curious how the display is too high for you. Are you guys 5'2" or do you ride with the seat reclined and a gangsta' lean?

I'm average heights, 5'10" and I can see the the hood over the center display.

I kind of like the height. It's in your line of sight, but not too high. That way you don't take your eyes off the road to see it.

Even if it is a requirement that it needs to be up for reverse\back up cam (no back up cam on my car, thankfully), I'd think when the car goes in reverse, that could trigger it to automatically pop up....then lower again when driving if that's what you prefer.

After getting used to it, I much preferred the HUD to the main display in my F30...wish the F87 had the option for HUD. Although it is good for playing movies while I wait for the wife if she is shopping.

Corvette has a screen that can be lowered, when you go in reverse it just automatically raises up.
