Never heard of that before. Unless they have a specific pre-payment penalty clause in your financing agreement, I'm fairly confident that the dealership is blowing smoke up your ass.

And it's likely bs. If they give you a "credit", they can't just take it back if you pay it off early. Which is what refinancing is.

Check your paperwork for a prepayment penalty. That's the only terminology they could use to get away with that.

I searched the usual that you listed as well as Auto Trader. Ended up finding mine on eBay, dealer had it posted there and that's how I ended up on their website.

I was told the same by my dealer, but I did the BMW select financing (balloon payment at the end). I checked my paperwork and can't seem to find anywhere that states there is a pre-payment fee.

BMW select might be a different story. As it's a more like a lease. But traditional financing wouldn't disallow early pay off.

Some shady finance companies put in early payment penalties.

Is offering $55,000 out of the door in California for a 2018 M2 dct unreasonable?

Still seems high. What is the MSRP and are there a lot of accessories and m performance parts added?

They have msrp listed as $62,400 only add-on seems to be the carbon fiber rear deck lid. I believe they said the vehicle has about forty miles or so.

Thanks

If 55K is out the door including sales tax, license and registration I'm assuming that's about 5K. Is that right?

if it was me, I would ask for 51-52K OTD since they need to get last year models sold. I would probably wait a bit longer to get a better deal in CA or cross shop and get quotes from out of state dealers to see if the deals would be better even with a transport fee. But if you feel it's the best local deal you can get now and you do not want to wait any longer then you have your answer.

I’m having trouble getting them down to $55k, one of them tried to quote me $61k otd. I’m not exactly sure what they’re thinking, it seems like the sales rep are pretty young not sure if that has anything to do with it. As of right now I’m thinking of holding off until March then.

Thanks for the input.

55k otd for new og m2 is not bad. Someone who comes in looking for a new 2 series series might snap it up. These cars go fast in sunny climates

I agree it's not a bad deal but I also don't think it's that great of a especially when you factor in the first year depreciation. If I recall correctly, there was someone on the forum that got a 2018 M2 LCI for 51K OTD but I don't recall the US dealer.

On Autotrader, there are over 90 new/used 2018 M2 LCIs and 49 are new so I'm sure there are better deals to be had for people that are willing to wait until end of Q1 or sometime Q2.

Based on past experiences, dealers in the San Francisco Bay Area typically suck when it comes to their willingness to negotiate. But there's also not a lot of dealer competition and due to the overwhelming high income folks that work in the tech industry, people there are more willing to pay MSRP or more and not give a shit or think twice that they are overpaying.

Dealers in Southern California seem to be a bit more amenable in negotiating but there's more competition due to the number of dealers in the area.

Of course I'm generalizing and there will always be dealer exceptions in any area.

I got tired of dealing with the BS with the California dealers so I looked out of state and I was able to get a 5% discount off MSRP for an M2C with no haggling. Based on this experience, I would have no issues buying another car from a non-local dealer.

I look at price from a out of pocket and value point of view. If you are going to keep the car for a long time then by all means get it as cheaply as possible. If you are keeping it for 4 years then yearly depreciation matters. For instance, my last car was a 2016 model that I bought in August of 2015. When I traded it in November of 2018, on paper it looked like a 2 year old car when actually I had been driving it for 3 years and 4 months. When you go to Carmax they lower the price every month.

Depends how many miles you drive too. I drive 16k a year so regardless of the year, if I drove your car for 3 years and 4 months, I'd have 50k+ miles. At that rate of driving it sometimes pays to just buy a one year car with really low miles versus a brand new one which may be 5-6k more dollars since the miles impact the value so much.

I'm finding that most of the mildly used (2018 low miles) or new 2018's are white. It's nearly impossible to find an LBB in the Northeast. Is this due to LBB being more desirable and therefore selling out before the AWs or do they just send the dealers more white cars?

FWIW, I saw an AW today and I actually liked it more than I thought I would. I thought the contrast with the dark wheels was nice. But I still lean LBB as it just seems more special and will probably cover blemishes better over time for someone like me that drives a lot.

Can I get some thoughts on this OG aw m2

https://www.bmwofpeoria.com/inventor...1j5c58jvd35819

Sticker 70,320
Manual trans

58,900 price.
——————

As far as I know there is 4500 credit and 750 loyalty.

I'm shooting for something closer to 55,800.

I ran the vin and this car was actually produced in 2017 so it has been sitting a long time. I am waiting to get back a picture of the sticker / add ons. I don't know the miles or if the car was previously punched .

Anyone know the residual for the OGM2???

My guess is the price already includes rebates. Worth a check. I don't even understand how they manage to get an M2 up that high.

Anyone think 10% off BEFORE rebates is doable on a leftover? On a 60k MSRP car that is.
