Not really. The only manual in the VAG parts bin that will work with that drivetrain setup is from a diesel TDI Tiguan. (That's what they put on the Mk2/8J TTRS.)

It's... not that great. Can't handle a lot beyond stock power. The DSG, OTOH, can take a lot of abuse with just software. Yes, the involvement of shifting the manual is fun, but I can understand why Audi isn't bothering.

All I mean is that there have been MT RS models in the past, and it’s too bad there aren’t any now. I figured they didn’t have anything sitting on the shelf that would work.

The Golf R manual transmission is not very good so if Audi couldn't improve that to handle the extra power, the DSG only is probably the best way to go. Nothing ruins a really good car more than a mediocre manual transmission IMO.

Well, I'm thinking just like there are those that prefer the smaller M2 to the M4......there are some that would probably enjoy a smaller version of the M3.

I'd like to see it....if it's the same size as the e46 330i then I think there will be a market for it!

Nope. Not that limp waisted m performance shit.

Give us the real M or nothing. The 2 series minivan is a big enough abomination.

That "ambomination" is funding Competitions',CS's and other models as you requested.

This suggests BMW is building Comp and CS cars out of the goodness of their hearts. Somehow I doubt that.

Agreed...they also somehow were able to make CSLs and the like in the past without selling minivans, so.....

Sure the RS3 is an awesome car. Who doesn't love a good 5 cylinder??? But for staggered tire setups, the larger tires are supposed to be in the BACK. Sorry, Audi, that's a deal breaker. Push the engine behind the front axle, send power to the rear, and you'll be damn near unbeatable.

As for the M2 GC...... It could find it's way into my garage. Great concept and I'd love to see it roll off the assembly line. Sure my car seats fit in my M2, but I'd love back doors and a hatch.

I don't think it's going to be an M2 GC, I think it's more likely to me an M240i GC AWD.

Yes, if the M4 was just a tad bid smaller, I would love it so much more. It's handsome and an M car were you could have it all i.e. options..

It's just my driveway is really narrow, so I have a practical need for a small frame vehicle, which the M2 is more apt.

You have need for a 4 door vehicle or you just prefer it's styling the M3 over the M4.. ?

I just love the M3 - I genuinely think it looks better than the M4. Not often that happens over a coupe, but the M4 is too long or something. The F80 just looks more aggressive and less "classy" if that's the right way to say it. More bulldog, which I think the M2 also has in spades.

If the OG M2 was more readily available when I got my F80, I would be in one...but it wasn't. I needed something more practical and more, cough, economical in comparison to my 981. The M3 it was.

An M2 GC would absolutely get me back in the door at my dealership. I got my M235i when I was a single man, and in a short amount of time I've found myself married and with two kids.

With careful car-seat choice, size-wise the car is still just fine. Access is a pain in the ass though, until they're both big enough to buckle themselves in, that means crawling into the back with them and squatting in the rear seat footwell, and big coupe doors are not conducive to pulling this maneuver off in a parking lot.

I had hoped the coming M340i would be the shoe-in upgrade for me, but the lack of a manual and the identity crisis appearance have really sucked all the enthusiasm I had built up for it away. From the little I've seen, the upcoming M3 would be nice, but I haven't seen any evidence that it will be any less than a $70k+ car.

4 door M2 with a manual transmission and a sales price in the mid-to-high $50s? Slam dunk for me.

I'd get an M3 before I'd even consider a 4-door M2. The whole point of the M2 is it's compact size. I don't think they can put four doors on it without adding length though, right?

Interesting that it appears to have front wheel drive with ability to bias to rear instead of the other way around. So most of the time your riding FWD.
