PPF edges not tucked in?

I recently had PPF (Suntek) applied to the front of my M2C. It's my first time doing PPF. However, I realized for some panels, the edges are not tucked in so the PPF is not completely invisible.

Only the edges of the hood is tucked in. The shop said they used machine to cut the film and this is what they got. I wonder if it depends on what software they use?

Honestly I'm a little disappointed that the PPF is not completely invisible but it's also my first time doing it so not sure what I should expect. For those of you who had PPF applied, does it look reasonable to you?

If you didn't pay for a custom wrap that's petty much what you're gonna get with a pre cut

That's called a pre-cut kit. The manufacturers have a pattern for each vehicle, and, as the shop said, use it for a machine to cut. The other option is a custom wrap. Obviously, this is more pricey. But they will do things like take off the M2 side marker, apply the PPF, and replace the side marker so that you cannot see the film edges. They tuck the edges around most all of the panels so that it's not/minimally visible. Your wrap will provide plenty of protection; just be careful not to let dirt get into the exposed edges.

That's what a pre-cut kit looks like. It does look like they didn't do a great job on the front lip with that big gap but the other pictures look pretty normal for the kits.

Pretty normal for a precut.

You can tell the pattern cutter to extend the edges. Mine is from a pattern and 85% of the edges are wrapped.

As others have stated, this is pretty normal for a 'kit install'

Some shops install kits and extend edges in some areas for more coverage. I personally remove the side markers even on kit installs just because I don't like how the gap looks when it's installed. In the end it really comes down to the shop and installer.

Looks like a perfect job using a pre-cut kit.

My is pretty similar to yours, this is my 5th car that has had PPF in the past 8 years and for computer pre-cuts they are all very similar to this. I do feel the template each installer use is slightly different

I can see a lot of surface is exposed on the area under the headlight on yours, where as on my that spot is extended a bit so the PPF goes right under the headlight..

Seems like a larger gap than normal with the 3rd picture I assume that is a picture under the front headlights. Edges shouldn't be tucked where the front bumper meets the side fenders.

All my edges are tucked in and you cannot even tell I have a full front clear bra.

Really happy with my results. I went with a small 2 man shop and tried to avoid the bigger shops that do not focus on quality. My entire clear bra was custom and not precut. The front emblem, side fender emblems, and front kidney grills were removed also before applying the film.

Eric at Envious Detailing does amazing work!

I would have to double check but I think I paid $2200 for their track package clear bra install.

I have LLumar PPF custom wrapped on my M2C. Die cut is less than half the price and would take around half a day. It took 3 days for my car to get fully wrapped.
