Sport+ because of the outstanding throttle response

I tend to prefer using Sport all the time because I'm well aware that I'm not a hero and don't want to get into any trouble. I'll also configure sport to 'chassis only' when I'm driving around town to quieten things down a little, use a bit less fuel and keep the same steering feel.

Sport for the streets because the car is more responsive, don't use sport plus on the streets much because the shifts are a little firm for day to day but I use sport plus or everything off on track depending on a variety of factors. Driving in track with all the nannies off last weekend I caught myself out a bit on cold Cup2s on a very cold day (by AZ standards) and did a nice 300 degree turn and smoke show so I decided to keep the safety net on for the rest of the day because traction was an issue most the day. On a good warm to hot day with Cup2s the M2 is great with everything off as long as you are smart about it and have some decent training. The M2 is not a car that most should drive without nannies on in my opinion. When driving aggressively those systems are doing far more than most realize.

Sport here. Used to be sport+ for the throttle response and burbles but a istep update has now made sport the loudest setting for some reason.
Not the same throttle response as plus mode but miles ahead of comfort. Just right for the street. |

For driving around town, I'm in MDM most of the time.
I use sport mode if I want to use the speed limiter (areas I know with cameras). I can't stand sport+ mode, for me the steering is overly heavy, throttle is jittery and not smooth, also feels to me the transmission is overly harsh too. Just my opinion. MDM for me driving around town is a joy, good balance of throttle response, transmission smoothness and non heavy steering. Also I would never drive around town with DSC off, I think that's just irresponsible on a public road, no matter how good you think you are. |

Long press if I want to have fun heel-toeing, Sport+ normally and Sport if traction is bad (cold or raining).
The one time I was forced to drop into Comfort (nail in rear tire + slow leak), I was surprised how gas efficient the car became But I rather have lower engine temps than a dead feeling pedal and slightly more efficiency. |

It's funny because since experimenting, I'm going through tons of gas! With all the nannies off, I have gotten sideways a few times without getting on it much. Tempted to try to pitch it hard but don't want to end up into a curb:-).
I will say since changing my rear tires to new (left front ones since tread still good), car seems to move more based on road contours which I assume is due to the lack of break-in wear. I'm sold on how fun of a car the M2 is to drive. It's really the perfect daily for something that is a bit of a refined beast. Installing a fabspeed catted DP tomorrow and will be interested to see how it changes the car with stock exhaust. Thought about also doing cat back but don't want to annoy the neighbors (or wife) too much. |

Just for driving around town I like MDM or comfort if the weather sucks. On the track I do MDM - once I'm more confident I'll go to no traction control. For autocross it's traction off always.

since I've got the Dinan tune, it has changed the characteristics of Sport+ from what it was in stock form, now its truly more suitable for track driving than road
so now I do comfort with MPE flaps open, and Sport when I wanna show off in town |
