It has a small section in front of the rear tire area on the rear quarter panel, a small strip on the doors edge, and PPF section at the trunk area to protect the paint when loading/unloading items I assume.
Mine had it on when I did Euro Delivery in Munich a week ago...

As you mentioned, this is the dealer adding non-factory approved items post delivery. The small quarter piece previously discussed is standard (OEM) from BMW on all stateside cars. I cannot speak for RoW.

I recommend covering the rockers also. They will get pitted just before the rear wheels if you leave them uncovered and drive in an environment that has crap on the roads.

Valid point... The rockers and sills are included with most quarter panel kits. Xpel's 'extended rocker panel kit' includes rockers, sills, a rear quarters.

The lower piece between the front and rear wheels beneath the door sill.

Hi all,

I'm considering trading my F80 M3C for a F87 M2C. For the M3, the factory PPF on the rear fender was a joke for US roads (not for roads in Germany, which are maintained well). However, for F8X M4 owners this did not seem to be an issue; the factory PPF on the M4 seems to be fine given the more gentle sloping of the rear.

What is the experience of M2 owners?

Thanks!

It is a small patch from the factory which doesn't go up to the panel edge, and people are saying it yellows over time...

I'm going for the Xpel ultimate plus "rocker" set with rear arch protection.

You can double it up at the fender swell also. Have a tear of piece when it inevitable gets destroyed by rock chips. Then you don't have to replace the underlying PPF.

The level 1 is really just the luggage area, door cups and door edge. The section on the fenders technically comes with all M2s. I do really like the door edge part. The SO is pretty good about putting the door into the garage wall when exiting.

pre cut

Reviving an old thread to see if anyone has done a diy. Seems pretty straightforward on fitment and install. Anyone have any experience on how much coverage this provides? Bigger than stock?

Same as stock. You will want the extended coverage one. https://www.xpel.com/product/411181

The extended piece still doesn't give enough coverage. It needs to be 3-4 inches taller in coverage. It's about the same height as the stock piece.
