Yes just didn’t to mine, it threw a restraint malfunction but had my buddy code it out.

I'm planning to do this in reverse - OG seats into my M2C, so I can use my quickfit harness. As per online info, if you swap out the original underseat module onto the replacement seat it avoids throwing any codes.

And make sure to unplug battery first (because airbag), and the seat bolts are listed as single-use-only.

Instructions on how to switch og manual seats -> m2c automatic seats.

Would you please share those instructions? It doesn’t even have to be organized. An e-Mail thread or loose notes would do it.
Hey guys, bringing this back up as I've just bought an M2 Comp with the og manual seats, but could buy a set of M2C automatic seats for a decent price.

Does it work at all? And if yes, how? Asked the dealer, but they have no f*** clue

Absolutely, straight swap, just needs coding.

If there’s one thing I honestly dislike about the stock OG, it’s the seats.

They’re basically just retrimmed standard 2 series pews and they kinda suck to look at.

The comp seats are fekk’n 🔥

They're older than that, predating the 2 series entirely with the general seat design going back to at least 2007 with the 335i sport coupe, and I think the 2012 335i had the exact seat.

I agree that they're ugly, but I actually prefer the feel of them vs the F80/F82 seat since they have a bit more lumbar, and a bit less bolster. I think this comes down to how you drive your car, with the F80/F82 seat holding you in better, as well as being better looking. Yours are pretty much a win/win unless you need that tiny bit of extra lumbar support.

Jesus, I knew I'd seen them pre 2010 somewhere... like frickin' everywhere. They just slapped some embossed leather on them and called it a day. Lame.

I've been hunting for a set of these, blue stitch, M2C specific here for ages. They just look and feel like an M seat is supposed to look and feel.

How much of an issue is it going to be swapping them over? Really just code?

Yeah, I was surprised as well. Same thing with the shift knob. I can't remember how old it is precisely, but BMW has been using it since the E46 for sure.

Swapping is simple, and just one code IIRC. Just make sure to disconnect the battery first, and then leave the trunk open. Roll down the windows before you start as well.

Yikes, you're giving me nightmares already. "Just code" he says...

If you already have power seats you don’t even need coding. I did this swap but the guy I bought them from helped me swap them. Swap the modules from your current seats. I do remember adjusting the seat all the way down and flat, I don’t remember if it was all the way backward and then forward to access and loosen the 4 bolts on the rails before disconnecting the battery and if that mattered in which order.

Looks wise, they're at least nicer than the E9X M3 seats. The comp seats are a lot nicer looking, but anyone that wants proper support should look to upgrade to aftermarket seats. The comp seats aren't THAT much of an upgrade for support.
