Those that have done it say the aluminum bracing makes the most difference.

What aluminum bracing are you referring to? Replacing the corner braces? I'm getting the Dinan CAI and I know it has clearance issues with the stock braces. I am going for a carbon heavy look on the car, and especially under the hood so I would like to use the turner CF braces if they will clear.

What do you mean ? The Quadrifoglio is based on all reviews (and my personal test drive) a great car. It also looks great, imo better than an M3 which is the direct competitor.
Granted reliability is questionable but M cars reliability is not that great either.

My comment was mostly based on the reliability aspect. The Quadrifoglio is just beautiful, but I've dealt with enough new Alfa product lawsuits to have turned me off to the idea of ownership entirely.

The reliability is night and day difference. A handful of owners here have traded to an Alfa and there was a big difference.

Plus 1 on Alpha. The Alpha's suspension tuning is superior and you have to be an even harder core fan boy than me to think otherwise (I currently own 3 BMW, including 2 Ms). Alpha reliability is the issue. That said, I personally have been struck by the S55 intercooler on my 1st F80 and sch on my 2nd....so I wouldn't throw too many stones out of the glass house, LOL

It's a car at the end of the day, I like my cars but hate this one. I've owned many vehicles & I'm very familiar with sports cars. I lost a few thousand in depreciation; peanuts! It's sold now & with good riddance.

How sad so many lives must be here if they truly judge their status by how many friends they have on a silly little forum full of spotty teenagers who bought an M2 as their first car and have inadequate mechanical knowledge to perform an oil change .

I thank the more experienced knowledgeable folks who have put some good input (I don't just mean agreeing with me - but technical input). Be interesting if you feel the same way in a few years .

Wow ... dude, enough already. Go join the Buick forum.

I'm no "teenager," and I've performed plenty of oil changes in the past 46 years. The same is true with most of us who've commented here.

And ... if you don't even know who Artemis is, then this ain't the forum for you.

So long! Farewell.

1) I find it quite interesting that someone doesn't realize the ride quality of a car (M2) during the test drive.

2) 350Zs ride more rough than an M2. I lived and breathed owning and working on the FM Nissan/Infiniti platform for 7 years.

3) A 350Z feels more torquey? Huh? I've owned lots of Nissan VQ cars including the VQ35 in a G35. They are torquey for an NA motor. Torquey compared to a N55/S55? Not even the same ball game. I guess if you drive your N55/S55 around in Comfort or ECO mode it might feel a bit soft, but a switch of the button to the Sport throttles and you're set. A 350Z runs a more aggressive throttle setting all the time. The N55/S55 is putting down well over 100 more ft/lbs of torque to the wheels than a VQ35 or even the VQ37.

4) The OP notes a plastic oil pan on the S55 or N55? Nope.

This thread reminds me of a comment Monkey Harris made in his M2 review. The M2 is a nice niche machine. And, stock, hurts the head on crappy roads.

Sounds like a win-win situation: you're relieved that you finally got rid of the car that didn't comply with your personal preferences and you recovered a decent amount of money + you allowed someone else to enjoy the car now. To each his own.

Ha! In 2016 when I got one, you were lucky to get on a waiting list much less drive one

I could see how the OP thinks the M2 is bouncy, but I'm with you on the 350Z. The ride quality of the 350Z is trash. I owned a G35 coupe with sport suspension also which had a similarly terrible ride quality. The VQ series is probably the most overhyped engine in history. It was decent in the early 2000s, and way past its prime in the 37HR variants. Put to shame by the BMW S54 in every iteration if you want to compare NA to NA.

OP must test drive a lightly used Lexus RC F, it's very nice as a daily driver & will be reliable, no cutting corners on design & materials with this car.
It's definitely not a worthy track car though!

Since this is the M2 forum, the post will inevitably attract some butt hurts, so don't be surprised!
Also found out M2 is not for me. Ride is stiff for sure. Took it on back road and AutoX the car truly shine though however! Plus for fun engaging drive I have the e36 took care of that..
Ended up selling it after the first year and move on to F90 for comfier ride.

Not to say F87 is a bad car however, nor stiffer ride as a bad thing since it does it's purpose in handling department. Liked it, but simply not what I need.

Really? I had an 06' 350Z for over a decade and I feel like it rode better than the M2C. It definitely had more travel. Could be wheel/tire differences between our respective 350Zs as well I suppose. Z couldn't hold a candle to the M2 handling wise though.

The aluminum is the piece that sits at the top of the "U" correct?
