Thanks!
I just installed stock size Michelin PA4s on my M2C’s 788 wheels and they fit perfect. No rubbing at all, even when going up steep driveways. If you purchase 245/35 front and 265/35 rear you will be good to go. I was worried about the post you’re referring to as well, but I think they must have messed up their installation or something....

I know which post you're referring to, I believe they said something about the PA4s having more square vs. rounded "shoulders" vs. the PSS.

Three days ago I just mounted and installed stock size Michelin PA4s (245/35 Front, 265/35 Rear) on the stock 788Ms (9x19 Front and 10x19 Rear) and have not noticed any issues with rubbing even at full lock. Suspension is stock as well.

Can confirm as well, no issues with 245/35-19 and 265/35-19 with the PA4 on 788m wheels and stock suspension. Excited to drive my car all year round!

For those of you looking to run the 641M's. This is how much clearance you will get if you have the Big Brake Kit.

I ended up fixing the wheel rub issue by using a heat gun to meld the inner plastic fender guard/liner back enough to clear the wheel.

1) Removed wheel
2) Heated up the inner plastic liner around the spot the tire rubbed, and much of the larger surrounding area
3) Pressed the plastic guard outward from the center of the wheel hub to make more clearance
4) While holding, sprayed with cold water to set the plastic in place
5) No more tire rub
I'll have to try this. I have the same tires only mine are mounted in the stock rims. I only noticed rubbing issues when in very low speed parking lot maneuvers. Now that you've pointed out where the run is happening I'm gonna go inspect my fender liners and see if there obvious damage.

I picked up the 641m + alpin PA4 set and I gotta say I'm a huge fan of the look. Tires feel quite a bit softer than stock which is nice for winter.

Anyone running a 255/35/19 Square setup on the R163A wheels?

Found this online at a shop and sounds like they will work, but lots of mixed sizing on the site. Hoping for some help and clarification. I'd likely mount a different tire, PA4 or Hakka 8 or something along those lines.

I'm been told by many shops that 255/35/19 will rub up front.

Thank you M2CMTL,

The link says they don't rub so I am thinking it could be very close depending on the tire selection. Based on rim/tire calculators with the above setup it seems like the tire will stick out an extra 13mm. I am thinking I need to reduce to a 245 or 235 setup if its that close.

Just trying to find alternatives to factory winter kit. $4600 for the set.

For sure the "rub" will change with different tires and wheels. If you read through the forums here a few have tried 255s and they usually rub on full lock in front. Not a big issue. I know some forum member took a heat gun and pushed back the wheel well plastic a little to keep the tires from rubbing.

I have these wheels:

https://www.super-speed.ca/post/rf05...-fitment-guide

But I don't think they have a US supplier for some reason. Paid 3k CAD for the set with Pirelli tires. (2.4k ish USD)

Nice,

I'll add those to the list, 3k CDN is far more reasonable - what size rim and tire are you running?

rims are 19x9.5 +25. Running 245/35/19 Pirelli Sottozeros. Tires are too narrow for the rims so the rims poke out a little. Honnestly going back in time I would probably go with the 255s to avoid the poke and modify the fenders to deal with the rub if it's that bad. Don't really like the Pirrelis either. I drove 3-4k miles on them and they are half done in the back.

edit: just noticed you are in Canada. I actually got them in Ontario from wheelsco.ca

That is very helpful, will continue the search. M2C should be coming in June or July so once I have the sizing figured out I'll keep an eye out on pre owned sets.

My 2 cents...

winter wheels stink. And they'll still set you back a decent chunk of change.

get new summer wheels - something nice (3-4k) and swap out your tires onto them.

Then, put winter tires / all seasons on the stock OEM wheels.

you spend a bit more, but you at least get a "wow" factor in the summer and a nice wheel for the winter.

Second this after having ugly winter wheels for the past 5 years.
Use the stock as winters, splurge on nice summers and just sell used when you're done to recoup some of the cost.

I had 255/35/19 Hakka 8's on stock 788 wheels and they rubbed a little at full lock, but were otherwise amazing. I have them for sale if you want to give them a shot. They are an absolute beast in the snow, especially in comparison to PA4's which were junk.

Ya, Been thinking of going this route as well. Just seeing what is out there, I have the summer to find something.

Ya, waiting to see the vehicle in person - still waiting on delivery - tentative first half of June right now. Working on unloading 1er and parts for it at this point in time. Limited on space.

I'm considering a 19"x 9.5" square setup with 245/35/19s. I don't want to worry about rubbing in the front. Do you have any photos of what it looks like? I'm worried about it looking too stretched.

Thank you!

Has anyone had experience with the continental dws 06 plus? I’m looking to run that tire on my stock 788 wheels for my M2C. I’m a bit paranoid after reading this thread and want to confirm there are no rubbing issues with all seasons and stock sizing.
