Question M2 European Front Bumper

Can anyone help me get the part number for the OG M2 European Front Bumper? My stock bumper has scrapes and road rash and I'm looking to replace it, but figured if I'm going to go through the trouble I might as well get the Euro number with the reflector delete. IND has it for $1,295 plus $600 to paint. I'm curious if I can import it myself and do better on the price.

The part number you seek for the Euro-spec bumper is 51118068509

It's about $640-$700 USD just for the bumper. I'd imagine with shipping overseas you may be over $1,000+ (Total)

Shipping is the spendy part. I looked at this for my M2C, and shipping was steep-- I really couldn't find an inexpensive way around it (although when I checked, everything was shut down due to CV-- things might be better now).

You might try cars245. The bumper cost shows about $575, but I'd expect the shipping to probably be close to that number. When you put the bumper in the cart, it says shipping is less than $100, but I'd be pretty surprised if that were true. There's a blurb on the website saying that with certain items shipping may be adjusted-- you could certainly email to find out.

Thanks all. I found the 51118068509 euro bumper on ebay for $550 USD and only $65 shipping, but then I'm concerned whether it will come without damage all the way from Latvia. Decisions, decisions.

Car245.com is a little slow on preparing for shipment. Once it shipped, my mirrors arrived in three days. Always use PayPal when buying overseas.

$65 shipped from LATVIA?

I'm sure it'll be well packaged and probably will be delivered on a pallet.

Possibly by unicorns.

Oh-- your paint estimate is spot-on with the one I got for a front clip as well, so at least that's a solid data point for you.

It's not $65 to ship, trust me.

Check out my first shipping quote to the final:

I would get it from IND if possible.

I see it from a few viewpoints. The first one is that if it does come damaged for some reason it would be a royal pain to ship back to say the least. Then you're waiting for the time between shipping it over and getting one shipped back. Second, it seems to be taking a long time for shipments to come from overseas. I ordered a set of LCI tail lights from a vendor overseas on the 27th of May and have yet to see them. They were shipped today so we'll see how long that takes. Last but not least, when you get the bumper you won't have to worry about a body shop taking the time to paint it.

In my eyes, it would be worth a few extra dollars to know what I'm getting and that if I have a problem help is nearby. I've never dealt with IND but I know people who have and have nothing but good to say about them.

Yea but It's not a few more dollars, it's $2,100, without installation.

Not to discourage anyone that's ok with that option but just saying; I can and have gotten an OEM bumper replaced & painted, for less than half that amount and they even sprayed the reflectors for free..

I ended up ordering the European bumper from the eBay seller, and as expected they cancelled the order and gave a story about it being damaged. Oh well, I tried.

I then went ahead and ordered the bumper painted from IND. It took awhile, but it was well worth it and the paint quality is top notch. I'll be installing it in a few weeks when we have the bumper off to install my new big turbo kit.

For those curious, my stock bumper had road rash from normal driving along with a scrape on the bottom and license plate holes. I figured if I was going to replace it, I might as well go ahead with the Euro version. I will be getting the new one covered in PPF for protection.

I'd like to do this myself, having them also delete the headlight sprayers and add PPF before it gets to my door.

I've gotta believe it is more cost effective to purchase blanks for the side markers and pay a body shop to blend that in with body filler and paint? Has anyone gone this route?

I did the whole euro bumper conversion on my Golf R, only because someone backed into my front bumper and insurance was handling it - otherwise I would've tried to fill in the side markers with professional paint.

I know one guy who did exactly that. It's certainly an option, but I'm not one to cut corners so I just decided to order a OEM European version.

For anyone interested, an OEM bumper part #51118068533 goes for $650. Having it painted by a high quality shop is easily $600-$800. I went with IND because their paintwork is top notch and matches the factory LBB perfectly.

I paid $2,095 to IND for the bumper plus another $40 for the front BMW roundel.

Mine is sold! Thanks for looking!
