Revised C&D times.

Just noticed this update to their original review. I know it's not what the car is about but that's bloody quick for a front engine rear wheel drive car with not very wide tyres.

Update 7/6/21: This review has been updated with test results from a different M2 CS tested at our Michigan track, which performed better than our California test car.

0-60 : 3.4
1/4 mile : 11.7

"For instance, even when using launch control—your ticket to a 3.4-second zero-to-60-mph time—the driver needs to dial in the optimum engine rpm for launch using the cruise-control toggle. Anything much more than about 3000 rpm and the clutch engagement sends the 265/35R-19 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rear tires up in smoke."

Interesting. And very fast for an rwd front engined car.
I never ever used Launch Control on my former OG M2 and on my current M2Comp, but I managed to do a sprint 0-100kmh(0-62mph) with a tad of wheelspin(all Nannies off) on a dry september afternoon about 1.5 years ago with just 265 oem sized Michelin PS4S : 4.08s(Dragy official GPS time)

The car in your link/test is equipped with Cup2s?

Mine has a '500HP' tune.

Cheers
Robin

Love the article, great find! 3.4 & 11.7 @ 120 are impressive times. The article is also spot on saying the car is "exhilarating and humming with nervous energy". So true...

The car is spectacular!

Not necessarily, C&D earlier reported that their manual M2C was faster than the automatic M2C… yeah, they were a bit rough on the tranny but hey, no guts no glory 😜

I read that article as well. I still would put my money on the DCT in a timed drag race, back to back runs, same day, same driver.

That being said I love having three pedals, the decision was never really in question for me.

Agreed, they each have pros and cons but l rarely ever need that .6 on the street..

Exactly! The power "in gear" is important and you get it from both. Either transmission in this car is a homerun.

Hi Robin. Yes Cup 2s. That magazine is very good at launching and they also may have had a better surface, who knows? I've never used launch mode either and never will. The CS supposedly has 480hp when dynod so pretty similar to yours I'd say. File under more power than you'll ever need.
