My better half is a professional photographer so I'll have her take some good pics over the weekend and send them early next week. I have to agree that I was also hesitant about the car color as well as the wheels' however once I got to see my car in person I couldn't be more confident with my choice of color combo. The gold wheels are very discrete from an angle but when looked at straight on they emit a faint shine that makes the car look like it's from out of this world.

So I haven't driven the car yet however I have been driving my M4GTS (CCB) for a few years now and honestly speaking the brake noise has never been an issue for me regardless of my OCD. At the track and sometimes on the freeway you can notice a faint scrape noise (not the typical break squeak) but like I said nothing serious. Besides, I prefer this faint scrape noise 100 times over the possibility of brake vibration after a few hard driven outings.

I'll share more information as I drive the car however I do have to break it in before I floor it as my dealer warned me not to go over 4,500 RPMs before the 2,000 km service as the warranty could get voided.

Stay safe!
I thought the m2 manual states the rpm limit for break in is 5,500. Am I wrong?

why did they put them on the m2 cs in first place?

anyone knows?
They quite the tires down and keep stones from tearing up the painted edge

I'm installing them on my grey M2 as soon as I can

They're less obvious on a darker colour

So MR. actually cleared this up on his forum https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1732151 after meeting up with the M2 project lead. I guess it's as trustworthy a source as one can find.

He states "8. The new wheel arch stripes we all have seen are there because of homologation guidelines. New rules have been set across the world and they are installed because else the cars are illegal in many countries. The arches cover all the new guidelines across all the countries."

Hope this takes care of this issue.

Stay safe!

Before you get all bent out of shape for having us Mexicans enjoy this beast before the mighty US market, there is a very specific reason for this Ryan. As I stated before, the version we get here is the European one. Now this engine does not comply with the emission standards due for 2021 in Europe, therefore all European cars must be finished and delivered within 2020. We Mexicans get to ride along the European production campaign hence the earlier deliveries.

Also, there are additional perks we benefit from given the more lenient safety requirements. To name a biggie; no front side bumper reflectors!

Take care.

We were all there with BMWM and met one of your fellow Mexico City residents there and him and his group were a riot to socialize with (something that seems unimaginable these days ). He showed up with suitcase full of unbelievable Tequila!! Many great nights were had. Looking forward to more of you posts.

OP, thanks for the explanation, and just to clarify, not hating on the fact that Mexico got it first

Just wondering why since the ship crossed the Atlantic, it didn't drop off a few for us here in the US too lol.

I noticed that you were using km when writing the post, so I figure it's a Euro spec car, and since Europe has also been getting theirs!
