Iím waiting back for 6+ months after they land stateside and letting the few suckers buy at msrp (and some probably over) and then gonna snap one $10k or so off msrp.

This thing is sweet but not $28k over M2c sweet.

Not sure whether M2 CS will be "sitting in lots" - likely they even won't make it to the entrance of a lot of dealerships:

If I'm informed correctly, BMW got paid for the GTS and CS cars - the dealers paid. But dealers usually learn from what they experience. Apart from some places on the face of the earth known for mark-up frenzy, we can reasonably assume that most dealers will prefer signed M2 CS orders prior to ordering that expensive type of car targeted at a limited audience. I mean, it's quite nice to have a GTS or CS on display in your showroom, but the showroom is not supposed to become a 'museum'.

I'll be one of the suckers. If someone can spend $100 like you spend $20. Are they really suckers, or do they just not have to worry about it or care. I'm by no means saying I'm in the $100 camp, just saying some folks have enough disposable income that $5k or 10k is meaningless in their life scheme.

I think it's a little offensive.

Honestly, Iím hoping they come quick so I can snatch up a four cylinder 718 cheap. Iíd absolutely love to have a second one. APR is on the verge of offering tunes for them so for under $40k for a 2.0t 718, an APR tune, and maybe an aftermarket exhaust it will be awesome and relatively inexpensive for Porsche performance.

I will also be snatching one of these up if offered one. Who cars if it goes down $10K in 6 months (which I really doubt and agree with Artemis point earlier that dealers will only order them if there is a deposit.

Btw this will be my daily driver and will be racking up plenty of miles. It's value to me is something I can keep for a long time and still experience the analog performance of the vehicle.

I keep going back to this that we're fortunate enough to be driving these machines. Retained value is a pretty moot point unless you're a collector or speculator. Both of these require too much time or disposable income, which I am not in that camp.

There are M2 enthusiasts who "wanted the M2 to be the full M4 experience"? If so, that's bizarre. The beauty of the M2 is that it's NOT an M4.
Regarding carbon roof, carbon brake option, nicer interior, more power, etc.

Keep in mind the exclusivity will be between you, a couple of other random guys that actually know what it is, and this forum. To everyone else you'll look like a wannabe racer (unjustified, but, people are ignorant) that overpaid for a two series.

If this is your cup of tea, by all means go for it. It's an amazing looking car with tasteful mods. But do not think that it won't depreciate like any other M2.

I would personally check out a 991 GTS CPO in this price range, but to each their own.
How will everyone know that you overpaid for it if only a select few will be familiar with what the car is, and the exclusivity associated with it?

No media, journalist or bloggers were given the price to reveal. Just one guy at the show was told???

This is fake news unless it’s corroborated.

This could be the price but it seems like a suspect source.

Artemis, good sir, given the choice between turbo-charged 4 banger and naturally aspirated 6, I'd take 4 banger 8 days a week.

I know, I know, I know... heresy. The ravings of a benighted ignoramus. But, for my use case, daily driving and fun weekend canyon runs, want / need low down torque. I see all the comments in the thread on 981 GT4 owners saying NA6 just feels slow and boring on the road, stratospheric gearing, and needing to go "lose your license" speed to actually enjoy the sound of the NA6, and I'm convinced that NA6 is only good for track duty, which isn't my use case.

And again, because I'm an ignoramus, I actually like the sound of the 4 banger!!! Maybe I need to buy myself a Subaru!

I said "6-banger". Not necessarily "naturally aspirated 6-banger".

Y'all complaining about the 83.600$ price tag but here in Europe it's so much worse

M2 CS will be 105.000$ (base spec) in the cheapest country (Germany) and probably anywhere between 115.000$-145.000$ in countries like Italy and Spain and most likely 170.000$-200.000+$ in tree hugging countries like the Netherlands and Denmark

Agreed

Part of the reason I didn't include it in my list is that I am not currently aware of a relatively simple 100 % BMW or M Performance solution to retrofit this to a M2 or M2 C

However, it appears that at least one person on this board has been able to do it with a combination of OEM and aftermarket parts

https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1603360

In fact, I think it's one of (if not the) biggest reason to get the M2 CS (assuming it remains exclusive to the M2 CS and does not appear on the 2021 M2 C)
