Again that 9/10 is subjective for me (I'm no expert or race car driver etc.). Maybe after a few weeks/months my opinion may adjust some. But given how cheap the part is and how easily they can do it while having the driveshaft and heat shields dropped for the SSK install, it was a no brainer for me.

Would it be fair to say that removing the CDV means potential damage if you're not highly skilled with the clutch? |

Here is a BMW tech explaining it in response to a CDV BMW delete video from Throttle House. Echos what other mechanics and BMW techs have told me.

Is there another DIY on how to replace the slave cylinder, perhaps with a little more detail or basic instructions? |

Anyone happen to know how many hours a shop would book for this?
I am absolutely done with the stock clutch action. The 1-2 shift is so much more difficult than it should be, and I do have to slip the clutch every time to make it smooth. |

Depends if they have done this before, but 2.5-4hours is probably where it is at. 2.5 for someone who has done a few of these, 4 hours for a first time.

As someone who had a CDV (on a Z4M), removed it, and put it back before getting rid of the car, I think you'll be pleased with the mod but I don't think it will really help your 1->2 shift too much.

I just had the E90 clutch slave (21526785964) installed at my local performance shop, so I figured I would give some first impressions
The clutch engagement point is now much easier to feel and as a result more predictable which is great However, the clutch pedal now feels softer throughout the range of travel and requires less effort to press or release I don't think I like this as much as before, but perhaps I just need to get used to it My biggest complaint or concern is that the first inch or so or pedal travel (from the top) is a lot softer than before Because of this when the pedal is released quickly there can be a slight delay from when my foot leaves the pedal to when the pedal actually returns to its' original position which is now sometimes heard It should be noted that I had a Technic ASD Bypass Harness installed at the same time as the clutch slave so I might just have never noticed this noise before, but I doubt it because I can feel it slightly, as well The technician who did the swap for me mentioned (before the install) that although the dimensions of the two plastic slave cylinders appear to be more or less identical on the outside, the actual inner diameters of the cylinders are slightly different and could play a role in how the pedal behaves Anyhow, it is certainly possible that the new slave cylinder wasn't completely bled properly, so I'll look into that first I will also consider an Ultimate Clutch Pedal to try and make things "perfect" So, for now, I'm undecided if this mod was right for me |

I know bleeding a BMW slave cylinder can be a chore, so I suggest you reserve judgment until you're sure it's done properly and there is no air left in the lines.. Keep us updated.. |

Well damn. My M5 doesn't have a CVD and I removed it from my Z4M when I bought it on principle. I was driving an F80 M3 for three years before the M2C, and didn't think that had a CDV; the M2C shifts the same to me. Maybe the F80 M3 also has a CDV? The thing is, I find the shifting feel of the M2C fine, so now I'm torn because I know the CDV is there...
