M Performance pedals

Hi all,

I got the m performance pedals fitted by BMW to my UK DCT M2 Comp before I collected it and noticed that my break pedal doesn’t look the same as a lot of m performance brake pedals on other BMWs. I just wanted to make sure that my set are genuine or have been installed correctly (looks like they are missing the black rubber part underneath?!

Here are mine:

Here is a photo I found of a US car:

Thanks in advance!

You may want to check out the thread below.

https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1295904

The M2C I purchased had the steel pedals and I believe they were port installed.

I'm in the US and still waiting for the car to be delivered. The CA took a quick video of the car before I bought it and he took a quick shot of the steel pedals. It looks like my brake pedal is similar to the US pic you posted and in the other thread.

Maybe they installed a different version. Your brake pedal looks similar to the one being sold below.

Thanks for the info.

I’d like to see what pedals you have if you can get a photo.

I don’t know what that brake pedal is from but I don’t think it’s the official one for it!

I installed the M Perf pedals on my M2C myself. That brake pedal is not right. Mine looks exactly like the second picture (Flickr). Get it back to the dealer and tell them to fix it. If you're missing the rubber that's dangerous because your foot could slip off the brake pedal! Hope that helps.

I was browsing google for images of m performance pedals to determine what mine are and found on an Australian website that shows the M2 Comp m performance packs and it shows the exact same set. I wonder if BMW have now changed the pedals for the M2 comp?

Here is the site: https://performancedrive.com.au/bmw-...nnounced-2811/

Also browsing google I found another forum member sold the exact same set for a UK OG M2 so maybe it’s a regional / right hand drive thing....

Your brake pedal is fine, same as mine, this is how an official U.K. spec M Perf brake pedal looks.

Yeah, that's my car. I wouldn't be able to fit the one you show, my pedal underneath was more square.

Garage List
Looks like the dead pedal is also missing the M logo.
I have the US version - looks like in your 2nd picture.

UK cars don’t get the “M” metal dead pedal for some bizarre reason

Must be a RHD thing

Here's my ///M pedals, which were installed at delivery.

The brake pedal and dead pedal you have is definitely different than US spec.

It seems that your clutch and brake pedals were permutated...

Just curious if anyone knows. Why would the m performance pedals that are just screwed into the actual pedals be different based on region/country? Mine look the same as the ones that _Ack_ posted.

They bolt on, after you create a mounting points with a drill bit.

Hi I understand they are bolt on but not sure why the pedals (e.g brake) would be a different shape based on region/country based on previous posts in this thread.

First image is for RHD. Second image is for LHD. RHD tends to have less leg room for driver side because of the dead pedal need extra space. Therefore all pedal are a bit smaller for RHD.

Thanks I had no idea that the leg room which be much different with LHD to RHD. So the different pedals are not region specific and just based on countries that use RHD vs LHD cars.

Thanks for pointing this out.

Chances are I won't easily be able to reverse these since the drill holes will be off. I guess I'll be taking a trip to the dealer come spring to try to fix this. . .

Curious if people are happy with this mod...does it "feel" worthwhile? I have nicer pedals in my GT4 (OEM) but I can't specifically notice the difference between the GT4/M2 pedals in terms of feel (aside from the obvious weight differences etc.). Is it more for looks?

I like the way the feel. The rubber feels stickier than the stock pedal covers - not like spilled soda sticky - I mean my shoes can't slide on the pedals like the hard rubber of the stock covers.
