New turbo.
I’m fbo.
I’m leaning towards tte 460. But maybe go ahead with 550. , pure stg 2. I want little lag as necessary. But still noticeable power increase. I don’t plan on e85 or meth or anything. But will do hpfp if need. On 93 octane. What #’s. Can I expect with these. I was unsure if on Just 93. If any big diff between 3. Also looking at precision coils. & upgrade intake manifold if it will add anything. Which of these is gonna be best Last edited by Mkinzie; 10-11-2020 at 07:53 PM.. |

This should probably be in the N55 section.
I assume you have already done your research? All of the hybrid turbos are going to produce similar results and are all going to have turbo lag. Coils and intake manifold aren't going to make a noticeable difference. There's no reason to upgrade the intake manifold unless you are doing meth or port injection. If you simply meant the intake, that won't add any power either but will make more intake noise if that's what you're looking for. With a PS2 I made 440whp on 93 octane@20psi on a Dynojet, which is about 100whp over stock. You can make more with meth or ethanol blend; up to around 520-530whp @22-24psi. If I were to do a hybrid option again, I would go with a Dinan "big turbo" or similar. It provides the best mix of low end torque and high end power. My buddy ZM2 made around 420whp with his.

We've got a little more tweaking to do before getting back on the dyno. Hoping to get ~430whp out of the little Dinan turbo on half 93/half E85. Nothing like your Big Turbo project tho nothingman
OP, the TTE460 is as big as I'd go if you want close to stock spool. If sticking with 93 octane, I'd guess ~430whp on a Dynojet. |

If mods can move. That’s be great.
I’ve emailed. 5 diff companies asking about there particular turbos. Not getting a lot of feed back. I’ve read the ultimate turbo thread. & all the others that pop up under search. Majority is about pure 2. Seanwrt post. Is what got me on the tte460 & I might be wrong. But with bm3 tune. Full bolt on. I was under impression I’m at 400 whp So doing turbo & only going to 440. Not sure be completely satisfied. But maybe I’m off. So trying get some real world opinions on set ups. I’m really thinking tte460. & guess upgrade fuel pump. But curious. Just how much more lag the 550 will be. If it’s minimal. But good bit more hp. Then. That’s what I will do. But if I’m really limited cause of octane. & no matter what there’s a close ceiling. Then I guess not worth going 550. This prob makes more sense in my head. Lol. |

There’s only so much you can ask with a single turbo and 93 octane. You essentially have to go with the bigger turbos to make any big power, but you will add lag.
If you have cheap race gas around you, BM3 is releasing a Stg 2+ Race Gas map soon that will work with the stock and larger turbos. Stock turbo will get you ~425whp, TTE460 would likely get ~460whp with stock like spool. Also remember we’re talking about Dynojet numbers, not the higher numbers that people like to quote from Dynocom’s & Dynapack’s. |

Another important concern when deciding on a aftermarket turbo is throttle modulation especially what I like to call "corner throttle threshold sensitivity"
Mid corner throttle corrections with a mismatched unit will not be fun. The newer turbos engineering does make this less of a concern, but I've driven a few cars that sucked . Think about working your car thru a higher speed corner where the throttle was "numb" then "on" Yikes!

Not really a budget per se. but. I don’t want to go crazy. But I will buy what I need.
This is my. Weekend car. Hell this January will be 2 yrs of owning & ive put approx 5k miles on it. I have 2 jeeps. I blow $ on also. So I spread it around between upgrading 3 vehicles. Lol. I don’t know of any race gas around. Kinda small town. Would getting octane booster additive. Help ? Or be same as race gas. ? So would 550 on 93. Be basically useless ? Even with hpfp ? Or would 460 with hpfp. Be just as good ? All being on 93. ? Sorry. Newbie to all this. First M car & turbo car |

I’ll look into it. Might be fun for few runs. But. Yea. From where I’m at to Kilgore is hour drive. I’m technically south. Of tyler. Bullard Tx.
Would the tte 460. Be maxed at 460 hp. With e85. |

tte is going to be hard to get, especially with the core. I'd just go Dinan turbo with HPFP and be happy with low 400s rwhp. If you want high hp to go fast in a straight line, go with S55.

It's not the sum of the parts that dictate the power. It's the bottleneck.
Limited by the US pump gas (octane), there is no benefit going above tte460. 100whp over stock is about the maximum to expect, from any STG2 turbo. Among all STG2 turbo, TTE460 has the least lag, that I have high level of confidence saying, from the real world experience and datalog.
