Ordered m2c for June in January
Hey,
I put a deposit through my local dealer on a m2c for June euro delivery back in January. I had been checking in with the dealer every few weeks up until they laid everyone off here 2 weeks ago. My build was in the queue but never accepted/scheduled (not exactly sure how this works, they had submitted the build locally but it was not confirmed yet) and obviously the factories were shut down and now I read the shutdown in Bavaria has been extended. Just wondering how btfo I am. The local place has a 2020 m2c with 3k miles listed for like 57k but they wont CPO and wont budge on the price right now plus the single salesman they currently have working does not seem interested in responding to emails I am figuring the euro delivery will never happen, I am getting increasingly worried that even a normal order wont happen at this point. I dont want to get my deposit back yet in the off chance that the build gets accepted when the factories reopen but I don't enjoy the suspense here. any thoughts? |

I would forget about Euro delivery for sure. In principal the factories should open in the next few weeks and you could divert your car to be delivered in the US.

I see like 15 silver dct m2c sitting on dealers on the east coast on autotrader, they're all listed for about 65k. Before I start sending out blanket emails what are people getting off that? I also want to get rid of my x4 at the same time edit: and I would like to kind of have something else lined up before I pull my deposit like I said. I dont want to get boned with no car! Like I said the dealer here only has a slightly used one with the wrong wheels |

I'm in the same boat. Ordered in early Feb for a June 4th euro delivery. No word from the dealer or BMW on scheduling changes. When I called to check status is says "Scheduled for Production with no confirmed date", whatever that means. I'm going to wait it out and see what happens. I've pretty much given up any hope of euro delivery for this year. I'm going to reach out to the dealer once the factory opens back up and see if they have any info.

Well then you have easy access to dealers up the coast that have this car in stock. And while they are listed for 65k, they are selling for much less. You could negotiate a price, and a trade in, and drive up one day and drop off your X4 and drive the M2C home.
btw, your spec is exactly what i bought a few months ago. |

Don't settle for something just because it is close to you. If that dealer won't CPO for a 3K mile M2C, I would honestly stay away. Seems ridiculous not to unless the dealer knows something you don't.
There are plenty of M2C's across the nation and many will now do "free" deliveries. Buying cars are now easier than ever and using technology is part of that. If someone refuses to play via email, then simply move onto the next one. Last I checked there were 340 new available M2Cs and let's assume only 1/3 fits your spec, that's still over 100 chances. Also the forum members are great and I see BigKutta has given you his contacts. Let us know what you end up deciding and don't let the worry of supply make you jump into quick hastily decisions

I'm going to ride out the order process and see what BMW offers in terms of delivery date and see if ED is open for later in the year (although depending on second wave of virus and closings may also be futile). Kind of all up in the air at this point.... but the M2C is just a fun addition so no rush for replacing an existing car etc. We'll see how it goes!

Updates on my situation... I was scheduled for June 4th ED had not heard anything from BMW as of a few days ago. The mybmw site had me listed as "scheduled for production" but when I called to check it said scheduled with no date assigned.
My sales guy reached out on Saturday and said BMW had bumped my delivery day back to June 23rd. I told him I couldn't make that work and wanted to know if they'd be flexible and push me to August/September. I figured it was a long shot but worth the ask. BMW came back and asked for dates in August that we could make work, which I provided. Awaiting approval now... so maybe since its an odd year they are willing to be flexible with people? |
