Sourcing track pads in Europe
Hi guys, I recently moved to Germany for a 3 year work assignment and bought a 2017 M2 as my fun/track duty car. I will drive this thing for work year round, and hit up multiple tracks. Hoeckenheim is an hour from me, Nurbergring is 3 hours. Circuit de Spa is not too far either.
I plan on using stock PSS tires this year, and either RE71s or similar for the following 2 years on stock rims. What pads would you recommend given the tire choices and tracks mentioned here? Also where should I get them? Hoping to source locally as I hear customs can be a pain. Thanks for your feedback guys, I look forward to your recommendations.

I’d go PFC or Ferodo, whichever is easier to find there. And, stay away from Pagid.
Alternatively, I’m pretty sure you can get the BMW M Performance track pads in Europe, which we cannot get here in the States. |

I use https://www.at-rs.de for ordering brake stuff. They have big selection and the price is reasonable.

I think so. It’s what BMW uses for all their track events in Europe and at the Performance Centers in the US.
No idea how they compare in cost or quality to PFC or Ferodo. I’d probably only run them if the price is right and your local deal said BMW would warranty your calipers from changing colors. Otherwise, no benefit. |

So I'm getting ever so closer to the 2019 season opener, and I still need to get track pads. I need them by the end of March.
And I'm leaning towards Carbotech XP10s on all 4 corners. Found some decent prices on them too. https://www.bimmerworld.com/Carbotec...1609-XP10.html Anyone use them here? I have good experience with that compound from my 5 years of racing a heavier and more powerful Mustang. I figure they will serve me well on the lighter but slower M2, and I know what to expect at the limit.

Ok, getting close to track season in southern Germany now. I'm about to pull the trigger on PFC 08s front and rear. ~$653 from bimmerworld including $83 shipping fee to Germany. Settled on PFC based on your input.
Also tried https://www.at-rs.de/ and it's a little more ($670) without including shipping costs. Is there a better place to buy?

Thanks for that. It is cheaper and this way I don't have to worry about the Zoll coming after me with a 19% VAT bill.

Also try apex performance. They carry PFC pads. They are knowledgeable and offer great prices, but give them a call. Not sure if they would ship to EU though.

Thank you sir. I tied Apex' website, but it only allows shipping to Canada, US and Mexico.

Ok, so pads are on the way.
Next question: Which tow hooks are you guys using? I've never used them before, but none of the tracks/organizers in Michigan or Ohio required them. They are required at Spa Francorchamps and at Nurbergring. I ordered some generic $15 BMW/Mini tow hooks but the mounting bolts were too small for the M2. Fail

Thanks! I did not even know it was in there. Now I just need one more because they require both front and rear hooks.
