2017 M2 no touch -> touch screen upgrade

Hi all,
I would like to upgrade my 8.8" no touch screen to touch screen on my 2017 OG M2, with NBT Evo ID5 headunit (NBTevo_Q18491I - E-sys refers it as HU_NBT2)

This is my actual 8.8" screen

part number 938754702.

According to Bimmercat https://bimmercat.com/bmw/en/search/...M2/ECE/65_2302 , I think it is equivalent to 65509387547

Please note the rear plastic bulge (photo 2-3) to fit my console

Question 1: can I upgrade to part 65506844126 listed as touch on bimmercat?

Question 2: can I code it with bimmercode? I think CID_TOUCH = aktiv
CID_HMI_TOUCH = aktiv will do the trick.

Question 3: can I buy monitor compatible with 65506844126 and use my plastic? Many of them looks very different on the back. Can I swap it?

thank you

Perhaps someone knows the specific answer to your questions -- but have you seen Tommy L Garage's video installing a (larger) touch screen in his F80?

In the video description he lists the coding changes (including the additional ones to support the larger screen). He also shows the changes he needed to make to allow the bigger touch screen to fit in the same space.

This likely won't work with the M2.

I was one of the first people to post about putting a G30 10.25" screen into an F3x, and was planning on getting one for my M2C as well. I tried taking the G30 screen from my F31 and putting it into the M2C and couldn't get it to work. I coded all of the same things that I had in my F31 (and tried many more), but couldn't get it to display.

Both my F31 and M2C are NBT2/EVO. When I looked up PNs in RealOEM it seems that the 2-series used a different PN from the 3/4 (and up) series. I'm wondering if the hardware is different such that it can't support the larger screens.

As for Floc's question, the 8.8" touchscreen should work since he has NBT2 with the right APIX2 interface, and he'd just have to figure out how to swap back covers or make the touchscreen's fit the dash.

thanks to both of you yep, I saw the video and came to the same Farkle conclusion about 10.25. Now is good to know 8.8 touch should work flawlessy.

I think I'd go for plastic swap anytime soon. But I will be more confident if anyone already done it before
