Dinmann front lip issue

So I just had dinmann cf parts installed Friday. With other goodies
Looked awesome. Today. First actuall time take it out for a drive.
&. I hit about 130. 140 maybe. Long flat straight highway. &. Started hear
loud Fludder. So I slowed down & pulled over.

Guess the wind pushed the middle of lip down. So much. It pulled screws out
And flex down so much. He was scraping road. Just tore up lip. & scratched up car from the pieces.

Is this a normal issue.? Can u not drive that fast with cf on ? Was it an install issue ?
Had the tape. Like 7 screws in it. 3. Just in middle. My heart hearts now. Lol. 3. Days. &. Car is messed up

looking at the pic it appears you used self tapping screws? nut/washer and bolt combo would be better

on top of that looks like the self tapping screws you used are way too short. Barely any penetration into the bumper. Looks like maybe 1-2 threads at the most dug into the bumper.

Looks like install error.

I had a shop do it & those are screws that came with.
I’ll have to put screws back in. To see how far they actually went in.

like most CF sellers, they prob just threw in generic self tapping screws with their kit. It's always recommended to check how much penetration you actually get.

regardless self tappers are the worst type of fasteners to use anyways

Same here. Not lowered either and have scrapped a few times. I would have destroyed the carbon lip both times. I have a lightweight one to install, not as flashly but the only one that will survive/actually protect the car, the thing is pretty burley.

I was careful. & actually didn’t scrape on anything.

It’s when I was driving. The downforce. Pushed the screws out. & it flexed down to road & got chewed up.

I literally drove it. Few miles. & only 1x. On highway. Which is when it happened

I wouldn't call going 130 or higher being careful on your first outing. Aerodynamic load can be significant. There is a reason BMW calls for betalink to be used for the CS rear spoiler and the CS front spoiler requires metal brackets. I hope you can fix it without too much trouble. My CS rear spoiler was installed onto PPF with double sided tape and I get worried it'll be torn off one day, but I tend to overthink these things, so who knows.

Well yes. But I meant careful on like bumps & dips. I really didn’t think the speed was gonna be a problem.

It shouldn't if secured properly. Here's a good thread to get a general idea of what you should be doing during install:

@ mike. I don’t feel like I should have to buy another one.

Apparently dinmann doesn’t stand by their products.

dinmann said they would not replace. & said it must of been an install issue.

Funny enough in the email. They said this. & I directly quote.

The manufacturer advised that they know of customers driving 160-197 mph on the same type of vehicle, with the same bolts and nuts, with no issue. The only time we hear about issues with this brand is when customers drive over something they didn’t see on the road.”

Interesting enough. They didn’t send nuts & bolts.
They only sent double sided tape & self tapping screws. Which others here noted was the issue.

So if they sent screws. Instead of bolts. How are they not responsible for $1200 lip. That ripped off while driving.

Yep & I’ve gone back & forth with dinmann & xph & they refuse to replace.

I purchased the rkp front splitter to replace. &. Wow. It’s way better quality. Bolts built into it.
Pre drilled holes. & comes with a support plate that anchors to your bumper. & the bolts go through it. It’s very nice & solid piece.

Same price. Def go rkp
