If this is your M2CS for sale ....

I found this on carsales.com.au

The car is listed at $178k but in the body of the listing, it reads: This car represents great value at $170k

If this is your car, you might like to change this to avoid confusion

Lovely car by the way

Check out this 2020 BMW M2 CS F87 LCI Manual.

Interesting! 5 manuals and 2 DCTs for sale, very skewed considering that only ~36 of 84 were manual.

I wonder if the NSW lockdown is having a detrimental effect?
But yes, a lovely car and those CCBs are a rare option.

Wouldn't be surprised if the manuals were bought by speculators. Seeing how the 911R, GT3 manuals etc instantly commanded a premium one could think the same could apply to the CS. Especially because the M3/4 CS was criticised for being DCT only.

Yeah, it's possible. The asking prices are more or less similar across the board, but the DCT was a $7500 option.

I'm also wondering if the MT was purchased as more of a 'driver's' option, and with the two most populous states of Australia being in lockdown, it would leave very little enjoyable driving to be done.

I have a different take on this:

There are three dealer-listed cars and three private listings.

This tells me there are at least five people who bought the car, had their fun with it, and now are on their way with the next toy.

I know one person who pulled his listing has bought another car (a wagon) and another is buying a Rolls Royce even if he doesn't know it yet - you know who you are

This, in my humble opinion, is more the result of a disease called Auto-ADHD; you get bored of your toys quickly, and move on before the goldfish has a chance to ponder his memory issues

Completely agree and I have an example from my direct experience :

First M2 Cs I looked at was a beautiful Missano Blue (Dct) M2 Cs Car with 7k km on it (Brisbane Bmw) and I asked the salesman why it was traded .

The gentleman was elderly and he ordered and bought it from new .

It turns out it was “too hardcore” for him and he traded it on a brand new M5 LCI . Frankly I was surprised that someone would do this but he had a history of doing this in the past as well .

All this within just 6 months of ownership !

The Goldfish Affect is alive and kicking !

There are repeat stories of cars being received and then being too small or too intense. Still, some of us have benefited from that so can’t complain
Here’s an interesting thought: 6 listings is roughly 10% of the entire local stock

Why sell? Just buy more toys...

The G80/82 is a far better car for the non enthusiast.

The M2CS is an absolute enthusiast's car. If that's not you then you'd sell it.

True.

Looking forward to driving the G series at M day when lockdown ever ends...

Aside the silly comments on styling this is pretty much a spot on review.

They really need to drive the M2CS. It would press every one of their buttons and address their criticisms of M2C.

Amazing that their is such a turnover of a very small number of Cs’s delivered by Bmw Australia .
Also that Dealers are profiteering from all of this !

Thinks it's fair to say anyone paying these prices isn't buying to drive the car but speculate on future value (& needing the G87 to be a flop).

When normality or worse returns to the car market (remember new M2C's driving away around 90K) there'll be remorse from both buyers who paid way too much and sellers who held out wanting too much.

David

On my part at least, the only remorse is not having two of them; I really could have done with a DCT version as well

Take a look at the M5CS - only 20 ever came to our shores. Three are up for sale ranging from $500k to $800k. What is asked seldom equals what is realised.

There is definitely some low level profiteering going on, but that just leaves some wriggle room at the negotiating table. Those M5CS asking prices on the other hand are just crazy!

Though I'm still wondering why the over-representation of the manual trans in cars for sale. Could just be coincidence.

And the same offer extends to you in reverse my friend with my MB6MT next time you're in Adelaide

Just imagine, if this kind of friendliness existed among all humans - the world may be a better place that way

Looks like ex-ccrinoz’ has sold (or been removed from carsales at least). Anyone have word on what are actual selling prices now? Might need to update the insurance!
