PUMA 63324690 pillar A

I have an annoying "tack" that seems to come sometimes from the light console on the roof and sometimes from the right front pillar. It is very difficult to understand the exact source as the sound bounces off the windscreen making it difficult to understand the exact position of the source. I have already unnecessarily disassembled the central mirror cover, light console, sun visor and its retainer, right pillar cover. Turning without all these components the "tack" remains . It is a dry noise that is heard while driving with some frequency . N.B. the noise began to be heard in early autumn after driving 5,000 km . Carriage of the car to the BMW service centre seems to be a specific intervention but it is really very intrusive and I am afraid to make the situation worse. It is necessary to dismantle the windscreen and dashboard in order to reach the right pillar base. With a chisel widen the contact area of these two plates in two specific points.
No one has found the same symptoms on their car ? No one has already done this operation ?

There's a post on here somewhere. A home made chisel tool used to separate the two plates. With just removing the A pillar trim.

I was aware of this issue before I took delivery of my M2, and mine had the tick/crack noise since day1.
It happens intermittently when the chassis flexes/twists.
Like doughboy said, no meed to remove the windshield to separate those plates.

I was planning on doing this fix, but it’s not a noise that’s heard frequently but only on severe body twists.
I might tackle it if the noise gets worse.

That's correct. If I remember correctly, BMW's fix was based on his work. aka @carl44

I can't thank you guys enough. I followed directions and I think I have solved the problem. This is tool that I made by bending a flathead screwdriver after heating it up with bunsen burner.

The diy never worked for me. I ended up getting the repair under warranty.
