Any recommendations on extended warranty is it worth it? if so which is the best plan and any particular dealers?

I have never found that it was worth it. Put some money away each month as a repair fund and you will usually do much better.

Please just use the search function and review one of the dozen or so threads on this topic that have already been done. You will find much useful info, especially about which plans are easy to work with, and some that are a total rip-off. Might even find some tips on haggling for prices.

TL : DR some good, some bad, none really truly cover everything, some are such a PITA that you won't use them. You'll either be like most and spend more $ on the policy than you would have on the repairs, or the lucky few who had a big bang and made it worthwhile (the universal truth for insurance policies, right?).

I don't think I've ever taken any of my cars in for a significant warranty repair. Usually ends up being an expensive safety net if u do get extended. But that's usually how insurance works. It's a peace of mind for a few yrs at a cost. But can be valuable in some outlier cases.

I was toying with doing one through Fidelity on my 2020 that just went out of factory warranty about 2 weeks ago but ultimately decided against it. My m2c is a second car which will see 4k-5k miles a year so even made less sense for me. Fidelity is pretty popular with the Rennlist crowd. Huge thread over there if you are interested. I got some quotes from Trent at Highline who is one of the more popular brokers Rennlist members seem to use. Very few exclusions (outside of wear items of course) with Fidelity and the contract duration starts from when you purchase the contract.

Quotes for 2020 m2c with ~20k miles

36 months / additional 36k miles:

This is as futile now as trying to get people to use lanes properly. Right lane is for passing now, and “should I get the warranty” and “what should I look out for threads” will be never ending.

the carbanh warranty does protect modded cars and pretty sure not just if they have carbahn tunes cuz you can get a warranty without having any carbahn things. Its very expensive though last I checked.

I would say it depends on your dealer and you relationship with them. My M2C was the 4th car I got from my dealer. They sponsor local BMW club and host HPDE days, etc.

I track my car regularly. I have had suspension work, exhaust and some other items done, but no power changes. So long as I keep stock power and I consult them before making mods their attitude is drive it like it was designed to be driven. If it breaks, they will fix under warranty.

I got the 7 year factory extended at purchase time for $3-4k. I have had a couple of minor items fixed under warranty. They were pretty clear - change anything on the front side of the downpipes and they will not cover the engine. Flash the ECU for power and they will not cover the engine. Beyond that, they are a good partner.

Go talk to the service manager, clear mods through them first.
