Curious if you all think about adding an aftermarket exhaust + midpipe to a CS will bring the value down or not?

Also curious if you think adding the Bilstein Litchfield ECD coils will lower the resale?

Considering a Remus Race+ AA non resonated Equal length and also the Eisennman Valved + AA non resonated Equal Length.

Opinions on which setup you would prefer better is also welcome.

I have an Akra system on mine. The joy increase is well worth it. I don't care about the next owner. Just keep your stock exhaust intact. Let's face it. These cars are mostly enthusiast owned so they will be well cared for.

Don't think you'll see diminished value if you return it back to stock after. But if you intend to sell it with said aftermarket exhaust, then just depends on the buyer whether he cares for it or not.

Just keep the stock exhaust in hand when it's time to part ways with your CS

Again. Shouldn’t affect if you return back to stock. I have MP HAS and at some point I’ll need to go back to stock as well. As long as you keep your stock parts don’t think it’ll be detrimental to a future sale. Just don’t do anything silly and tune it. It’s probably the one car I’ve had where I felt it didn’t need it.

What if I didn’t return any of it to stock though?

Then your market of buyers just shrunk quite a bit. Even for a CS

I would say that most perspective CS buyers would not want an aftermarket suspension. The addition of the EDC on this car was one of the things that made it more desirable over the comp.

I would not even list a CS with the aftermarket suspension, however I would have no problem listing the car with an exhaust.

As others have said, keep the OEM stuff.

The only thing this car needed imo , it was an exhaust. I installed the single length midpipe with the Akrapovic muffler. I love the sound , it might be the sweet spot. The single length midpipe keeps that rasp of the S55 , while making it deeper with more bass. The character of the engine is still there , you 100% know its an S55 passing by and i love this. I dont really know if it will lower the resale , its titanium , those things will be very rare in the future i dont expect Akrapovic that will keep producing the exhaust for a long period (as far as i know , they have 2-3 different dates a year that they produce older exhaust systems , so if you need one , they will tell you - the next production date for the M2 CS is on June for example.)

As for the resale , i wouldnt care more - never ever selling this car . Anything else will come as an addition to the M2 CS.

Good info on the Akra! The single length midpipe your using is the Akra one or the single pipe AA one?

So the Bilstein Litchfield suspension works with the ECD on the CS. That is the only reason I’m considering the suspension. It would truly just be nicer suspension than the stock CS and works with all the OEM buttons and what not just like stock.

I would be interested to hear about the ride quality if you pull the trigger on that suspension. I have read that it is a tad bit more compliant. If I knew 100% that it was more compliant and could keep the car at near stock ride height I would buy it. I'm not worried about resale as this car has made me stop yearning for other cars. She's a keeper...

I will when she comes out of hibernation.

The sound is very clean now, zero drone with the valves open or closed. The back box is completely tucked and the tips are awesome. The tips on most aftermarket systems are just too big.

Did you have to buy that center brace from Active so that the single pipe would fit or would the stock brace fit? I just noticed you had the AA one on so figured id ask.

No , that came with the midpipe. The sound from videos never make justice .

Mostly annoying in highway , but i bought the akrapovic valve control unit , and its just perfect . I close the valves and open when i prefer to . At any mode at any revs . I can hear the downshifts now . The CS valves open when you pass 3-4k rpm . It was very annoying. I also deleted the asd (fake sound) . That also made some difference , at least i hear whats real.

Having returned an M4 with MPHAS back to stock to reuse the MPHAS kit in my M2CS.... I would recommend leaving it in. When you press (or hammer) the MPHAS spring sleeve on, it distorts the strut permanently. The original sprint seat reinstalled will not sit at the same height as it did before.
