okay, I am planning on buying some tracktires for my 513m soon and im not sure if I want to go 245/40 in front or bigger, any rubbing with 255 in front?

Since my tires are /35 the overall diameter is smaller than stock thus there is no rubbing for me. Of course my speedometer cheats more but it's not an issue on a track.

So my car is back and it's as good as when it was new. The repair is perfect.
Now i can continue with my small modifications. Yesterday I painted some matte black eyebrow for the headlights with "Plasti Dip" to make the look a bit angrier, 'cos i don't like the white part on the upper part of it. Here is the result.

Looks like you put a eye liner, it kills the front imo

Glad to see your M2 back.

I prefer the pre-LCI headlights where the eyebrows are actually LEDs. The LCI headlights do not have this effect any more (but the tail lights look more modern and are full LED...).

Last sunday i managed to go to the Euroring again, first time this year. It was a great although very hot day. The ambient temp was 34C in the shadows, but there were no shadow on the track.
I managed to improve my laptime with nearly a second this time. Unfortunately my dashcam did not record anything on the SD card so i couldn't make a clip from it, i have only the data log files. I suspect it was the SD card's fault so i did a reformat on it and will see if it works again.
In this high temps my IAT reached 54C but i didn't noticed any performance loss and the logs are looking good too. However it's a small track and there aren't long straights there and I'm using 100 octane fuel.
Maybe it's time to buy a separate action cam for recording.

lambda spacer ?

Hi there,

Just reading through your thread, you are on a mission

It looks like you fitted a spacer to the second lambda sensor (was this enough to avoid the ecu throwing a error code)

I just got back from le mans as a spectator and may have caught the bug.....

Thanks. Yours also looks cool, i like those strip accents.
I think it works because i didn't get CEL while I've run on stock and stage 1 maps. Although after i updated to stage 2 I got CEL, but it was about rich mixture not because faulty cat.

After my last track session it is time to change the front brake pads again. I've been browsing the net when i found there is a new track compound (RP1) from EBC so i decided to give it a try. Will see how it performs on my next trackday on tuesday.

Finaly I managed to get free from work to have a fun day at the Hungaroring again.
It was a bit busy this time but i enjoyed all of it. I had the luck to follow a nice old Porsche, it was great to watch it during its run.
I managed to improve my best time with a couple of hundreths of a second.
Some words about the new EBC RP1 compound. It worked well for me, i did not experience any fade and it was consistent during the 5x20 minutes run.
This time i took a digital thermometer so I measured the brake temperatures after my cooldown lap in the pit. The valueas were variable a bit depending on the time when i did the measure and the intensity of the session.
Front: rotors 250-330C and calipers 170-210C.
Rear: rotors 190-230C and calipers 120-150C.

I couldn't get to the pads precisely but they must be between the rotor's and caliper's temperature.
Then in the final run I have met with an unpolite Mercedes too which kept me up for a whole lap.
And here is my usual video with the noticable moments.

Today I did some logs with BM3. It was 3x3rd gear and 2x4th gear pulls, ambient temp was 27C, Stage2 91 octane v5.7 map with 98 octane fuel.
Here is the log.
Please comment if something seems wrong with it.
What i noticed and I'm curious if there's a problem or not.
HPFP seems ok up to the max rpm, it doesn't drop, and i didn't have any knock.
I noticed some difference in ignition timings:
- During second pull at about 4k RPM cyl 3&5 dropped 3 deg then gradually they caught up with the rest at about 6k RPM.
- In the 3rd pull only cyl 3 did a drop around 2.5k then another at 3.5k, then gradually caught up.
- In the 4th run cyl 3 again dropped at 5.5k then caught up with the rest but later cyl 1 dropped at 6-4k.
- In the last 5th pull cyl 1 and 4 did a drop around 6.4k.

So the question is that are these drops normal or they're related to octane problems or bad ignition plugs or something else.
My mileage is 29k km and i'm planning to switch to the recommended colder NGK plugs with 0.05mm gapping. And should i give a try to 93 octane map?

Today I had some time to do some maintenance work since my car is getting to 30k km.
I changed the oil in the rear differential (Castrol Syntrax LS 75w-140 [SAF-XJ]) and changed the spark plugs too. I installed NGK 97506s gapped to 0.55 as recommended by PTF for Stage2. Will see how they perform.
I also have bought fuel filter but unfortunately i found that there is no fuel filter in my M2 under the driver seat area. I checked and there are two version in the RealOEM, so it tricked me.
And a small tuning with the BLACKLINE Taillight Overlay Kit.
Tomorrow I will continue with the installation of the Millway camber plates.

So yesterday the camber plate install was successful. The first one was a little bit harder but the second one went quicker based on the previous experience.
Today i finalized the camber setting, it will be about -2.5 degrees according to my home made measurement.
I changed the toe also but tomorrow I will take it to a tire shop to adjust it properly.
Here is how it looks like. Later i will reinstall the rubber covers too.

The alignment was done today. The front camber was just 0.1 off from my desired value so we didn't have to make big adjustment during the setup.
What's more interesting is that the rears (which was not modified anytime) were much more off from factory settings. Thanks for the bad road quality in Hungary. I wanted a bit more camber on the left rear than the right based on my tyre wear on the track. Will see how this 2.5 front camber works on the track.

I really enjoyed going through this build. Nothing flashy, just a man properly using his M2 as the engineers designed it, plus a few power mods.

Here is the short video of my last trackday on the Hungaroring last weekend. Unfortunately without telemetric overlay because i had to use my old phone which did not worked as i expected. Anyway it was great although a very hot day. 34C in the shadow!
The previously installed parts worked well and i'm satisfied with the bigger camber. I saw better wear pattern on the front tires.
I had a moment in the first session because i wanted to pass an E36 so i applied a bit too much throttle too early.
This time i didn't went for better time but turned DSC OFF and tried to experience the car this way.

Today I've taken my car to Karcagtuning for a dyno run. We used the Insoric sensor system. I don't know how precise is this system compared to a dyno bench but it measures under real circumstances.
I also recorded with Racechrono to have a comparison using TTDyno software. There is some difference between the 2 calculation as you can see below on the pictures.
Note: TTDyno shows the Wheel parameters while the Insoric shows the crank ones.

In order to get the most precise result i measured the car's weigh with a precise scale at the Mill next door. I was a bit shocked cause it is quite heavy. With my 75 kg body and 50% fuel (cca 20 kg) it weighed 1630 kg. Which means its empty weight is 1535 kg. In comparison the factory claim is 1495 kg with 90% fuel, so its 80 kg heavier. Of course some of my mods have some noticeable weight (for ex. FMIC, splitter) but it still looks too much for me.

Yesterday my car was updated with the newest software, so now its I-Level is at F020-19-07-539. It went well, took about 2 hours.
Then today i flashed it with the most recent v5.8 Stage 2 93 octane map. Next week i will make some measurement to see how it works. I already made logs on the stock map this week so i could compare the results.
