2016 and car was F22 stock on the HK system.

I've only tried F45 so far (what do these numbers even mean?!).

At first underwhelmed but as I spend more time I've noticed the sound stage is wider, treble is slightly clearer in transients and there is more timbre to instruments.

Bass is still not articulate or hifi sounding don't think the system is capable of that

Mid range still seems to be scooped out.

It is better though.

I may try another setting too, thanks for those that figured this out.

None of those settings are going to do much good. F45 is the BMW active tourer 2 series car. Those are chassis codes. You're just loading EQ for the wrong car, basically. It may or may not improve something in one area but probably worse in others. "New F22/F87" is the one you want.

My car was already on F87 new.

The new setting I've applied has far more extended bass. I played a song and it took me by surprise, there was a bass sweep effect and I said 'whoah' out loud.
I dialled it back to +1 on bass from +2 as some songs there was overbearing bass energy building up in the cabin.
Wrong car or not it sounds better overall.

Now I can't find amp settings in bimmercode to make changes?

Any ideas? Originally it had different car codes I could select. Now just a small list of 7 numbers
I tried reset in bimmercode and it just zero'd the treble and bass. I'm not sure if it's still on F45 or not. Bass is still overly congested in upper regions so it may be.

Want to try stock again.

Thanks

Bimmercode said the labels may have changed. But I'm sure there were far more than 8 eq options before I flashed? Does anyone know how many?

And has anyone encountered the same thing as me using bimmercode?

Have you tried resetting the coding or using an old backup?

Did this today, I have BimmerCode version 4.16.0-11242 on Android.

Amplifier -> EQ Settings -> Expert Mode. There are definitely more than 8 settings (I chose F45) and I had to turn my settings down from Treble +4 and Bass +3 to 0. The sound is more in line with what I was expecting from the car.

F45 is horrible mid bass bloat. Anyone that says they like it isn't into audio as much as they think lol

I need to change back but as above it just has numbers now 1-8 and Bimmercode no help.

Long story short:

Bimmercode -> Amplifier -> Expert Mode -> EQ

After playing around with it and doing some reading the F45 setting seems to be the clear winner. I went with that and changed the tone settings to: Bass +2 Treble +3 and Fader +1 Rear.

What a huge improvement! I was thinking about eventually going with aftermarket speakers & an amp due to the lackluster sound, but after this discovery I'm now perfectly content with the stock system and will be leaving it as is. And the best part is that if you already have bimmercode, it's free!

Edit:

I've since switched to F22 new and set the iDrive EQ to +5 Bass/Treble

Any reason I wouldn't being seeing "amplifier" anywhere in my options?

Because this is a four year old post and the bimmercode app has been updated and changed significantly from the time I originally wrote this up.

Yea, maybe I shouldn't have quoted you.

The most recent post from July of last year says the same order of finding it...

I would reach out to bimmercode support via email and ask if/how it might be accessed.
