Cocomats in new M2c

I've been putting these in my cars for the last 20 years or so. Absolutely the finest mats on the market. First pic is at delivery - I tossed 'em in while waiting for F&I. Nobody at the dealership had ever seen them before. All were mega-impressed.

Oh wow, those look great...I remember seeing a bunch of P car owners doing the same. DO they have a custom fit for the M2C? I was planning on just putting in some weathertech mats but now I am definitely going to think twice.

What's so great about these mats?

Is it just the unique pattern? How much?

If you're a geezer like me, you remember fondly when the early cocomats were in lots of German cars in the '70s. Problem was they were not so great back then - no backing, so they slid all over, and the Coco material shed like crazy. These guys who brought them back refined the manufacturing process, backs them with a thick, nibbed rubber backing that keeps them from moving at ALL (plus you can have the velcro circles added at no cost when ordering, further anchoring them), and they're just cool. Pics really do them no justice.

Many other patterns and materials. Poke around their website for tons of info and history. Jay Leno does a nice little shill piece for them..

I’d like to see these mats with blue dots inside a blue stitched interior. If anyone has a photo, please post it. I’ve never been particularly interested in the Coco mats, but seeing these photos has tempted me a bit.

Perhaps not the best lit photos, but I put the blue coco mats in my blue interior M2C. I like the look and durability, and have had coco mats in my BMWs for 15 years.

Thanks for the pics! I like the trunk liner. Is the quality of the material on the edges of the mats good and durable? It’s hard to tell in the pictures but it kinda looks like a vinyl that might get brittle and crack over time?

I remember coco mats shedding quite a bit. Has that issue improved?

I remember that too - when I was in high school in the 70's!

When these guys brought them back in the mid 90's, they greatly refined the manufacturing process. Zero shedding now, and they have a heavy rubber backing that holds them in place, AND you can add the big round velcro anchors when you order, just like OEM mats have.

After seeing the pics above I may have to order the trunk mat now.

Yes, the binding on the edges is vinyl. I've never had a problem with it cracking, however.

That trunk mat is badass, so I just ordered one along with the rears that I didn't order when I got my fronts.

I ordered the Medium size (shown in the picture) two years ago which was for an area of 6-12 sq ft.

Instructions said to leave a note if unsure of the correct size, so that's what I did. Haven't heard back from them yet. Will post correct size when I hear.

Placed my order for the orange mats yesterday! I'm glad this thread was started; I love the character these things add to the car.

i COMPLETELY dig the checkboard and considering in orange for my car.

very interested in hearing more about durability...what the expected lifespan? is it more impacted by mileage (lots of usage) or time (maybe it just dries and stiffens over time before it starts falling apart)?

The C in KevinC definitely stands for Cocomats ;-)
When ordering do you need to indicate the fastener type (does the M2 even have a hook on the floor?) or when you put in the make/model they know what to do.

I do like the look of the original and the nylon one, but they seem quite thick. Do the samples show the proper thickness or they are just to see the colour/feel in person?

Also a nice touch they give a few dollars to their local foodbanks - that's really cool.
