All three of us in the neighborhood are middle-age asian dudes. More like Midlife crisis maybe lol
The M2's demographic sure does have a wide spectrum.

I foolishly assumed that the M2 model would never appeal to anyone over 40 but this forum confirmed how narrow-minded and wrong I was..

I saw an HS M2 on 93 North in Boston tonight. Nice reflector deletes (painted) and he had the muffler painted black too.
I think the painted reflector rear delete is better with the IND honeycomb as the painted infill just looks like something is missing. I bet it's better on a dark car such as BSM though. I might be biased as I have BSM and the honeycomb rear infill delete.

I did not get a wave though as I was in my i8. 😀

Saw another 2 today. HS M2C and BSM M2. So that's 5 different M2s on 2 consecutive days. Getting too common now. Good thing I'm getting the CS. (Joke)

Also saw two Lotus Elises today. More common than Mazdas.

One thing I have noticed. The other 2 HS cars I saw in the last two days had nothing like the same colour as mine. They looked dull grey. I think the difference to how the colour looks is in not only how frequently you clean but the products you use. Mine shines like crazy and has all sorts of different colour variations. The other 2 were a bad advertisement for the colour. If I had seen those as an example I would not have chosen HS... and I absolutely love the colour.

I dont want to derail this thread but besides for frequent washing, what do you use to keep it looking great? My HS is set to arrive soon!

IMO it's a color that MUST be kept clean at all times. And if you have the silver brakes it's even worse. HS just looks like dirty crap if it isn't sparkling clean. It's one of the reasons I didn't choose that color (though I absolutely love it when it's clean).

More like a sensible decision to solve a mid-life crisis. You could have spent a lot more and had less fun. Ask me how I know

I really like your wheels . . . the silver wheels look great on LBB and Black. I think you were recently talking about getting some of those expensive BBS wheels? Save you money, the ones you have look perfect.

I guess my assumption was off, it does have a mass appeal. My bad..

And beside, age is just a number, right

Yes, age is just a number. There no age limit sticker on cars

I occasionally see an OG M2 in my work parking lot, and its driven by a man well into his 70s! I'm pretty sure he ain't complaining about his back or the seat stiffness etc.

Thanks, I have wanted a set of ferric grey 437's since before I even got the car, and was lucky enough to find a really fantastic set, and they look just as good on the car as I had imagined. Better when I get my MPS though.

I decided against the FI-R's for several reasons, but will be picking up a set of Richland Forged 763M knock-off's in the future.

You guys ever have any STL meets? Need to get one going.
I believe sarg33 is around STL as we both bought our cars from the same dealer - I'm in the Ballwin area, and always interested in meeting up for a cruise and/or a couple beers on a patio somewhere. I also have another buddy who has a HS M2C who took Euro delivery the day before I did - lives in Kirkwood area - should all try to meet up sometime soon (socially distant of course..)

You're not 100% wrong but i think specifically the M2 and the M2C arent usually what a trust fund baby goes for when they go for a car. Most of those kids (as i stated earlier) tend to go for the M3 or the M4 if they want the 2-door. I think the M2 being so barebones (why we like it) is what kinda turns them off from it.
And then you have the Software Engineer of the big Tech in our area, who decided to just jump all the way to a Porsche. The Porsche Cayman is a VERY common car in our area. Almost as common (if not moreso) than Mustangs.

I myself am lucky enough to consider myself young enough (at 35) to be able to own a car of this caliber and pay for it from my own pockets.

I'm 34 myself, so I guess that makes you an old-timer .. J/k obviously..

Well put and I agree; the M4 seems like a car that your typical snotty-nosed kid would beeline to, over the more, shall I dare say, practical M2.

The M4 can be had with way more factory customizations and virtually every option available, including red leather seats and deducing the arrogance & immaturity of some the owners in F82 section, I do suspect some of them suffer from emotional arrested development, so your perceived demographic might be on the money.

I didn't mean anything personal by assuming the M2 targeted a younger demographic. I just figure it was a little too boisterous to appeal to a more mature crown - and apparently BMW shares the same sentiment..

"practical M2"

eh... it's the one thing I don't love about the car.
the trunk opening and size make 2 golf bags no bueno.
back seat is tight but doable.

Yesterday, I was stopped at a stoplight with my windows down when i heard "Nice car" from the car next to me. I looked over and it was another HS M2C. I think the other dudes car was even a manual like mine. We cruised together for a few blocks before I had to turn.

That's the second time in two weeks i've been directly behind or in front of another HS M2c.

Hi ROASTM,
I would love to meet up with you and your buddy from the Kirkwood area. I am retired and have plenty of spare time. Just let me know when and where any where in Kirkwood area or West County is fine with me.

I'm in for that meet. I'm in Cape Girardeau, but STL isn't so far.
