Thanks. Not seen that one surfacing before.

Now added to the M2 Competition Presskit sticky (see here).

I want to know if the PDCs are standard or optional. I.e. can I remove them from an order?

That base price converted to usd is $56k plus destination would put you at $57k for a stripper 6mt. That is assuming you get the same standard options which we know is not always the case across different markets

62-124 in 10 seconds vs 11.3 for standard M2, this is the biggest difference I see.

Also there is no option listed for standard non-sport seats on this option list, maybe these depend on market?

I think you're right - this info is really helpful, but probably will be tweaked, perhaps substantially, depending on which country a buyer happens to be in.

Brake option $1922.50
Comfort Package $3083
Plus Pack $3119
788 Wheel ~ $306
Sunroof? $1275

What is OTR?
That has the M2C ~ $70k in USD?

Interesting packaging of the options, obviously US market will be completely different.

Can't do a 1:1 currency conversion and get accurate pricing. There are too many variables, have to wait for the Pricing/Ordering guides to be released. They said pricing would be revealed in mid-May.

Frank van Meel: Interesting question. Pricing will be revealed mid-May so I cannot comment on the exact price levels of the M2 Competition yet, but I can ensure you that we looked thoroughly into positioning the vehicle between the outgoing M2 LCI and the base M4. This is the main reason why we didn’t add a carbon fiber roof, adaptive suspension or ceramic brakes to the M2 Competition. We really wanted to make sure that the M2 differentiates itself from its bigger brother both on specification level and price tag. The base price will not increase drastically!

That's 83,000 CDN with no options. So roughly 20 Grand more the MY 2017. We're into M4 territory!

Why this has to be repeated a thousand times when every new BMW model is released is beyond me?

Only pricing estimate that is helpful is the UK % of price increase, then you can that % increase to get a general idea of US model pricing. It seems to get you in the ballpark in past releases.

Interesting document, but a bit false info without knowing the standard spec for the UK nor knowing what the DCT box and all the other options cost...

Only thing we can do is compare the current base price of the M2 with a manual with the M2C with a manual. However, it is interesting to see the low pricing for the brakes and other wheels. I expected those to be a lot higher!!

I took the document and compared the pricing with the information on the BMW.co.uk website.

The information in the document states that a manual M2C is:

49285 GBP including VAT (21% tax)
56200 EUR including VAT (21% tax)
69418 USD including VAT (21% tax) = 57370 USD excluding VAT (21% tax)

The information on the website states that a manual M2 is:

46740 GBP including VAT (21% tax)
53298 EUR including VAT (21% tax)
65833 USD including VAT (21% tax) = 54407 USD excluding VAT (21% tax)

I used standard valuta conversation rates here to determine these prices. I am not sure if these numbers are correct for the US market, but it gives an indication of the increase in price. I do not think you have VAT tax in the U.S., we do in Europe so I removed that from the price.

Looking at it from my perspective as an example, it means that the vehicle has become 2900 EUR more expensive! That is pretty much a bargain. Now add the four things which I want to add to my car (DAB radio 320 EUR), new wheels (245 EUR), new brake kit (1540 EUR) and new seats (unknown price, but let's say 1000 EUR) and we end up with up to 3100 EUR on extra options for my spec!

My M2 was 66K EUR with all the options I wanted and that brings it to roughly 72K EUR including VAT for the M2C. Add my discount and remove the VAT since I do not pay that on a business car and we are looking at roughly 53,5K EUR that is about 4K-4,5K higher as my M2.

I expected to pay at least 9K to 10K EUR more for the M2 Competition, so this feels like a freaking bargain.

I hope this calculation helped.

My thought is that BMW is marketing this car perfectly.

They release bits of information here and there without official pricing. What does the consumer do? Rush down to the dealer and start inquiring. Meanwhile BMW gets to just wait and see what the demand is and then they'll set the price based on that. That'll mean that everyone inquiring about the car is inflating the price. I vote that everyone stop talking about the car and it's value and potential price tag.

Just a thought! I know probably not that case lol. Just fun to think about

Should be about a 5% price increase, using UK otr pricing for base M2 and M2C.

US 54,500(M2) + 5%= ~57,225(M2C)

*Although US price increase could actually be less. The UK price sheet seems to insinuate sports seats and perf leather are standard in UK. As they aren’t listed in options like the new brake upgrade.

We may be in M4 territory but if I wanted a boat, I’d buy one that floats.

M2 Comp is just as much of a boat as an M4 in terms of weight. Just saying...

Hahaha, absolutely agree, just referring to price range, if that's what the price will be here.

No, just another member doing an incorrect 1:1 conversion. It doesn’t work that way. If that was the case, for example the M4 should cost $107k CDN.

Specs

Looks like the M2Comp is only 100 lbs more than the M2. Happy to see that. Must have found a way to shave off a few lbs.
