Huh.... Glad to be back home here

I'm so used to our community and forum here (and love how simple and so well organized it is here) that, when I went over to the M3/4 forum......I was a bit surprised how disorganized it is over there.

Most of the General Talk section should be moved over to Classifieds as there's so many WTB, FS, and "Should I Buy This Used M3/4" threads, lol.

Glad to be back home here.

Anyway, Happy Friday all!

Agreed, this forum is one of the best on all of bimmerpost. I however worry as time goes on more and more n00bs find their way in here as we've recelty begun to see. You know the type, low post count, 20something knowitalls that don't own an M2 lol'n about things they have no experience with and making uninformed comments, doubling down with conjecture, etc. The regular M2 forum has started to feel it the most which is why I'm here most of the time. Natural progression of things I suppose. You'll find me in the G87 forum once this one goes to shit too.

I feel like the F87 sector is becoming like 2Addicts; not much traffic and only a few members contributing to anything valuable.

I mean, I guess that's expected as the model generation ages and old heads move on to bigger and better (i.e. newer), the active participants drastically reduce.

Overall, this APP/Forum is very well organized and intuitive to use but the most active section is F30 Post, so I venture over there for that reason and since all BMW models are so modular in construction, it doesn't matter anyhow, as they only vary slightly .

I like to think of us as more exclusive group.

It's funny that I get happy when I see another M2 or M2Cer in the wild, because it's a rare occasion.

But yeah, the forum here is just so much easier to navigate. I lurk over at Rennlist as well, and they also have a really well-structured forum.

That's sweet you're so sentimental, it reminds me of when I used to cut high school and then surprisingly bump into one of my hoodrat friends outside, so we go paint the town red.. Good times..

However, I've seen people come and go here, so I try not to get too attached because they're only as loyal as the model they currently own but life goes on..

Even in the DC area its rare to see an M2, but I have noticed us owners always give each other the thumbs up.

Yep, I'm a newbie as I just got an M2, but have been on these boards for a long time.

I created a thread about what the actual HP will be on the GXX platform, something like, BMW always underrates their motors, what do you think the real R/AWHP will be on these cars. Conversation started normally. Then the thread disappeared. So freaking weird over there. The other threads are people complaining and moaning about what the car might look like while constructive threads apparently get erased like they never were.

Agree. I get into arguments with people like that on here because I see them convincing new members, who come looking for advice, to make decisions that are potentially dangerous. And others arguing for someone to buy a product that isn't the best option or won't accomplish what they're looking for.

I was here before the M2 debut, Bubba. I'll be around when when the F87 is at its EOL; albeit in the F87's successors forum, G87.

You must stick around for the inevitable F Vs G - Series M2 pissing match..

You can set your watch to that fight

Yes, I know it all too well. I'm sure it'll be even more epic than when the M2C came out. There was so much infighting and butthurt that this sub forum "BMW M2 Competition Model" was created to separate the two camps.

I'm sure it's going to get even uglier when the G87 comes out.

The butthurt happens every time a comp package comes out, or a replacement model. It drives me nuts.

I'm not going to be butthurt when next-gen M2 comes out, if it's going to look anything remotely close to the 2er GC.

That thing is hideous.
