Has anyone put Opti Coat or Ceramic Pro on their M2 in HS? I was hoping to see some picture of how well the color looks after paint correction and the gloss attributes.
Thanks! Updated photos below! Here is a 4K video walk around:

Thanks! Are you happy with the results or is the finish similar to when it came out of the factory? Trying to gauge how much "glossier" it is.
My friend had his LBB done (see link below). The car never looked this good out of the factory. My concern is the HS is more "dull" and perhaps won't be much different after application. Also, is cleaning much easier or are you still doing a full wash? Thanks!

I decided to pass. I'll get over my new car pretty soon and stop worrying about the perfect looking paint. I've decided to hand wash this car. Let's see how long this lasts...LOL! My car is always garaged whether at home or at work so my cars usually ends up looking nice even years later. |

I Xpel'ed my car's entire front end, headlights, outside mirrors, rocker panels, 1/4" above the doors, a huge chunk of the rear 3/4 panel, and the area by the trunk/rear bumper.
Didn't do Ceramic Coating because it doesn't actually protect. |

Mine is being done next week. My wheels are being taken off and coated. I'm hopeful cleaning them is a breeze moving forward

I think the results are very good... i think the price is not... could not fathom paying upwards of $2k for this... it is cheaper to reapray cars at those prices.

I had my fully car coated and color corrected for $550. Shouldn't really cost much more. Just a FYI.

It definitely pops a little more.
Washing and drying is also about 9,000 times easier. Quote:
You could wrap it for $2k, maybe. |

I am getting Ceramic Pro "Silver" which lasts 8 years. They are doing a 2 step paint correction, doing all my glass, removing my wheels, and fixing some road chips I've picked up. You have to be careful which product you get and really you're paying for the labor hours on the paint correction. If you don't want a paint correction and don't care about the product, you can buy a ceramic coating product online and apply it yourself easily for less than $100.

9h costs a lot more to apply due to the labor (And skill, to be frank) involved. Sport more affordable and is really pretty awesome if you live in a place like AZ or SoCal where you don't have a ton of weather to really deal with. Lot less protection, though. I had sport on my 911 and M3 and was totally happy with it. And even though it was only rated for a year iirc after about 18 months it was still in great shape. |

I had nanolex si3d hd applied by Phil DetailersDomain and I highly recommend both getting the coating and the place I got it done at. My car still looks brand new 10k miles in, and every time I give it a wash it pops.

I've stayed away from ceramic coatings since they don't offer any protection from chips etc. Some advertise they do, but don't believe them. That's all marketing. Not to say CC are bad, far from it. They are awesome and far superior than any wax or sealant as they last years vs months. I just don't like the idea of paying so much (because of the labor) to get it done since it's such a PIA to apply it yourself. You need an environment free of dust, with controlled temperature and humidity so it doesn't flash on you before you've had a chance to level it out. I've seen the aftermath of CC gone wrong, you cannot remove it without serious mechanical compounding, polishing and worst case sanding. I went with full front PPF and I just apply sealant to the entire car. Sealants have come a long way, many can last 9-12mo now. If you're really into this sort of stuff check our graphene paint coatings. They are still new to the market and are not fully offered yet, but they are even better than CC.

My detailer let me play around with a piece of Xpel and it's tough as nails. Plus at 80MPH+ it can deal with a rock chip pretty well, considering it's really tough plastic. I can't even imagine a liquid coating trying to deal with highway rock chips at speed. There's just no way it can protect against it. |

I know of several people who have done this. Granted, most are on $200k+ cars. |
