Build will include full race suspension, carbon fenders, doors, hood, trunk, roof and fenders. Full roll cage, stoptech, pfc pads, mcs 4way and much more.
Why buy a brand new m2 and tear it apart? Why not buy a used and save some $$?

Isn't our money so who cares? Besides if you want a great race car why would you start with a used palette? I can't afford this but I would if I could without any regard for the car or people feelings.

Battery, to balance the car I'm going to take this huge one out and relocate to rear right in that hole. I'm going to keep a heavy battery for balance. We did the same thing in our e46 race car. We tried a light weight but the cars really want the weight in that corner.

Would totally do it if I could afford it. No way I would build something like this from a used car unless I would also change the engine, but then, it would be cheaper to just buy the shell from BMW like racing teams do.

I guess the answer is why not? I know it sounds silly but this is the way to develop your own car. We've raced factory racecars and awesome yes but... you are constricted by factory rules and parts and they dictate what you can do down to the washer. You can't change anything. So with this we start with a new clean platform and we will go forward. We are working closely with Bimmerworld and a few others. We get to choose every part and develop others.

This is news to me.

I didn't know MCS actually make 4-way dampers.

There is nothing on their website about them.

Here you guys go. Car weight stripped down. No cage

Ouch! That is heavy! You are going to be more than few lbs. over your goal.

This looks like a sick project. Definitely looking forward to seeing the end. I'm over here trying to justify buying an M2 comp as a daily and then this thing pops op.
