I am most curious if the US spec cars sound any different without the ridiculous exhaust filter

Sure, it looks like a bonkers car but since I've sold my old M2 it feels like a stupid idea to buy the M2 Comp. It's like dating your ex girlfriends twin sister instead - maybe hotter but in so many ways the same.

Really? In theory it sounds more like re-dating the ex; after she got implants...

Was hoping the M2C launch would be in time for this years Motor Trend Drivers Car of the Year contest. Alas, it was already filmed earlier this month. Maybe next year.

Of course, it is not fair to compare a spanking new car with a used one. The list of used cars to buy from a value standpoint is a long one.

I wonder how different that will be, since it is only a slip-on! There will definitely not be a full exhaust from BMW.

That being said, if he was a character in Mortal Kombart, that would definitely be his finishing move.

How does the midpipe look on eu-cars? A New midpipe without resonator/secondary cats might do the job to get that little more sound?

Sort of what I feared for the new car but overall reviews are positive overwhelmingly.
not sure what anyone expected.. Every new car gets overwhelmingly positive reviews from journalists. very common.

+1 I was thinking the same thing; the only BMW I ever read of with a bad review was a 318t from 1998, every other new car is "great... but"...

Haha. Boy, rough crowd. I thought I gave him crap. Interesting that MotorTrend tries to suggest that the S55 doesn't sound as bad as it does in the M3. Very hard to hear much exhaust character in Shmee's video. At least it didn't sound too raspy.
