For anyone interested, I took a picture of the 2019 and 2020 tail lights next to each other. 2020 is on the left and 2019 is on the right. It is important to note the lights are in somewhat different lighting though

What do you mean "different lighting"?

It's the same exact light with a darkish tint..

There is direct sun on the light of the orange car while the light of the blue car is somewhat in the shadow...

Oh, I see; you meant the setting, not the actual hardware..

Cool and thanks for the line-up

yeah haha just the setting of the way the cars were parked in this specific parking lot.

My pleasure! Felt like a lot of people have been asking for this for some time now

I can see that it's an enormous difference, could easily distinguish the two tail lights at 1/2 mile or more.

Both look fine and almost the same, but overall I prefer the 2019 lights. IMO the 2 series taillights are kind of over-sized and the 'outline' around the inner portion of the lights tricks the eye to making them seem smaller than they are. The 2020 lights blends it all back into one unit making them appear bigger. Just my opinion.

BMW are such trolls.
  • First with Hockenheim Silver looking white in pics.
  • Then the two 788M wheel options look nearly identical in pics.
  • Lights look the same, if this were a test for your life I'd have a 50/50 chance of coming out alive.
Don't get me started on the revised suspension nonsense, although can't blame people for being so damn confused.

Wait until the next generation M performance vehicles start having the same looks and specs as the official M cars, then you'll be truly confused.

I believe BMW has reach the end of the road with ideas in the ICE motor field; the writing is on the wall when they have to resort to what kids my High School did to their '89 CRX and tint their tail lights and tout it as an improvement.

But I digress..

Man, those tinted tail lights are sooooo cool! I can't believe that ANYONE would buy a 2019 with those garish bright lights!
