Agreed... my guess is 79-85k, and I'm sure they will sell out easily at that price.

I'm guessing 78.9k US base price before destination or any options.

I think it's going to be closer to $85k MSRP in range in the US.

That's ZO6 territory! An M4 with the competition package is still cheaper.

Wow! I can't justify owning an $85K CS if there are much better cars you can get out there.
Is the CS supposed to be cheaper than the M4 Comp? If so, why? M4 Comp still lacks the bigger brakes, CF hood, CS wheels, CF front lip, diffuser, and the spoiler plus it's a bigger car (not in a good way). Assuming these two cars will have the same or a very similar engine mapping (both 450HP), I'd choose the CS over M4 Comp any day if BMW priced the CS anywhere near M4 Comp price.

Also, if you look at Autotrader, you can get a Z06 for high 60s or low 70s. Similarly, there are plenty of GrandSports available for as low as $57K. Even Corvette GrandSport can outperform any M around most of the tracks (Grand Sport at VIR: 2:47.1 M4 GTS at VIR: 2:52.9). What I'm trying to say is, normally you'd expect everyone to buy a Grand Sport because it's cheaper than even the entry level M while performing better than arguably the best M ever made per BMW, aka M4 GTS. However, people can and still do justify owning an M2, M3, or M4 over a Corvette or something else for various reasons. Some people don't wanna live with a 2 seater while others think M cars still offer something special for them. That being said, I think there is definitely a market for the M2 CS even if it's priced at more than what people are wishing for here..
The one thing you're forgetting is the cost of the 14k gold necklace, bracelets, and pinky ring you need to drive a Corvette

Since there is a guessing pool going on, I'll estimate MSRP at $79.9k + destination without ceramic brakes or other options. By the time the M2 CS is released the M2C may be seeing more discounts and the M2 CS may see some markup so I would expect the real price gap to be more.

Edit: I changed my estimate after checking the M3 CS prices on autotrader

Chest hair as well - ridiculous chest hair that protrudes from shirts that are opened 1-2 buttons too far is a MUST.

Me too - if they follow the same sort of makeup that they used for the M3/4 —>CS models, it’s going to be between 80 and 90.

Too much in my opinion...

They’re using all the cool colors for the 2AT, you know, the minivan. Those minivan sales finance the development of the C and CS, according the SCOTT, so you know they gotta have more options than 3-4 colors. Gotta keep the soccer moms happy.

Given it has nothing more than an M4 with comp package (other than the standard larger brakes), my guess is it will come in under $75k without the CCB's. Compared to an M4, you are likely giving up nicer interior, carbon fiber drive shaft, and lithium ion battery, so if they charge any more than that, it's over priced IMO. It may be worth it for us folks that like the smaller package, but it still would be overpriced.

I might as well join the price guessing game to pass the time during this wait.

I am guessing 72-75k base price. I don't believe you can use the comparison between the M3/4 comp -> CS gap in this case. Two reasons. 1) EOP M4 may play a factor and the M2CS will fill a gap for M4 sales in the 70k range. 2) The M3/4 is marketed as a luxury/sporty GT car that is really trying to take sales from would-be 911 owners. The M3/4 CS just breached into 911 S price territory and clearly that pricing strategy didn't work out too well. The M2CS is competing with the ultimate 'drivers cars'. I see the only natural competitor is the 718 GTS at $80,700. The M2CS has to be under GTS pricing, just like the M4CS is under 911 S at $105,100. Therefore, I would be shocked if this is over 80k base price.

With that said, I am very tempted by the M2CS and will hold off a 718 purchase until pricing is released. If it's near 718 GTS pricing I will go that route, but if I can get the M2CS for ~75k it's tempting. The challenging part for the M2CS is that deals can easily be had on the 718 GTS where M2CS will likely be a MSRP car.

CS has CF hood, 763M wheels, larger brakes, CF CS style spoiler, CF diffuser, CF front lip. M4 Comp doesn't have any of these. M4's differentiator is the lithium battery, aluminum body parts (fenders, hood), and carbon trunk. Also, M4 doesn't come with CF driveshaft anymore.

Well the good thing is we have lots of choices out there nowadays in fantastic performance cars. Two doors, four doors, big cars and small cars. Even SUV's. Certainly BMW has an M car for just about everybody now. Price and performance specs aside, a lot of times it comes down to individual taste in appearance. Does it excite you visually? For me that box has to be checked first. When I laid eyes on a 2018 M3 CS it was all over. I had to have it. Cost be damned. Well not really but you get my point....

I think my dilemma will be to ponder whether I should spring for the complete exhaust swap (high flow catted dp, mid, and muffler) + engine tune to get the power levels around 450, or spend twice that cost for the CS.

I have time to think it over lol.

The chances are still good, but it's just too soon to have any real confirmation - we saw the first CS testers just a year before the model will enter production, I would expect a similar development cycle with Racing too.
Couple more questions,

Is the M2CS limited in production? Is the M2CS the last variant of this generation's M2 or will there be another more advanced M2 in 2020?
