Car turned off on highway x2. E50, tuned. Ekpm problem?
So my M2 has now managed to turn off during driving on the highway x2
I’m running E50 with tte550 turbo and so on Pushing 525whp. Both times: Warm day Low on gas Been driving for 45-60 minutes No codes, just shuts off and will only start after cooling down for a long while. My thought goes to a ekpm overheating problem or lpfp problem. Lpfp is stock. Hpfp is Dorch. Problem seems to have to do with heat. Any one else having similar issues or any ideas? About to put a fan on the original ekpm. |

Low pressure pump is probably overheating and shutting down. I'm sure it's maxed out. It uses the fuel in the tank to keep itself cool so when you combine less fuel to cool it and the demand for higher fuel from it you've created the perfect storm for it to overheat. If you keep the tank at a half or more and it never shuts off you know it's not the ekpm.

Are you running a dorch stg1 or stg2 hpfp? I'm trying to figure out if I can run a stg1 pump on my ps2 powered n55 and run a e30-e50 mix with it around the 500whp mark. I think the stg1 would be just enough so I'm trying to see what others have gotten out of it on a ethanol mix.

You’ll need stage 2 for 500whp & E30-50. |

Been chasing this problem.
It seems my problem was due to coding of the DME. Yes, something messed up something in the DME. Dunno if it was BM3, Thor or me. The car didn’t throw any codes but stopped when warm and unable to start but cranked. Solution was to update the car and recode the units in it. Also gave me the perfect time to get service done. So if strange problems arise, I would really recommend a reprograming. Put oem hpfp, plugs and reprogrammed the car. I have my own ICOM that worked like as charm. Oh and had to empty out 40liters of E50 using a hand crank, fun 3 hours! |
