Since it's a #wheelwednesday, here's a few shots of e88s. These wheels bring me so much joy. Mainly because I love this wheel and that this is the first spec for any M2/M2C. There are others out there like it but they aren't the same AND this setup requires no spacers! #slicerspec

It's been a bit since I've updated this thread last. I've added a couple things so I'll try to get this close to recent as possible!
The KMP steering wheel is in and I absolutely love it, the smaller wheel really does change the driving experience and it makes the stock wheel size seem like an 18 wheeler I also was able to find a set of checkered coco mats from a forum member as well. Never had them, always wanted them and am so stoked! Last edited by ebisu8; 11-29-2021 at 08:26 PM.. |

I'm proud of where this build is now and the short journey thus far, I think I'm most proud of this next piece though. Here in the US, at least for me I look at a bunch of different cars world wide and I appreciate what's out there. The power of social media is incredible. It brings the world together from Europe to Korea and back to North America. So for me, this piece comes from Germany and it's special as it's the only Team Schirmer part for any platform to make it stateside. If you aren't familiar with Team Schirmer by now, look them up on IG. You'll most likely recognize some of the cars!
Here's a photo of the bumper removed, installation was simple and straight forward. Their products is top notch, fitment is 100% perfect and their quality is incredible. It's a combined two piece system that bolts to the bumper and brackets to the frame. Here's the finished result and I'm stoked to make this happen! Last edited by ebisu8; 11-29-2021 at 08:29 PM.. |

In my M3, I had a few things that I personally thought would improve my driving experience. The shifter position and the arm rest. Even with the stock shifter, it was low enough for my elbow to hit on the arm rest every time. Same rules apply for the M2C, in fact it's worse IMO. On the M3, I opted for a CAE shifter and absolutely loved it. Only down side was that it had a reverse lock out and I had trim the console and below is a pic for reference.
So in the past month, I started looking at what options were out there. Obvious and first choice was CAE because it was incredible. However I did see another viable option from PSDesigns. I reached out to Pete, we chatted and I thought why not. Reasons why I pulled the trigger on PSDesigns is because no reverse lock out and no trimming required. Below are a few pics of install. They have a couple of options to choose from by my choice was the following:
Overall the install was much like the CAE on my M3. I did have questions and was able to connect with Pete quite easily. His customer service is quite fantastic. The quality of the product itself great, no complaints or issues. absolutely no trimming or issues during install. It's literally a plug n play shifter. The shifts are quite direct and extremely short. I don't miss the stock shifter in the least bit. I'm happy I tried this out because I believe it's one of the first installs in the US and specifically one on the M2 platform. Now...I will admit that I won't be keeping it long term. I will be receiving my CAE shifter at some point as I ordered one over the weekend. I knew all along I was going to get a CAE setup again, just happened to come across this one to try out. Happy I did and happy to review that it's pretty darn good. Last edited by ebisu8; 11-29-2021 at 08:37 PM.. |

Will the CAE Shifter require trimming console? What is the reverse lock-out? Do you have to lift up and over for reverse? I installed the Auto solutions shifter and am considering the CAE.

Reverse lockout, there is a circular lever that you slide up to get it into reverse. It took a few drives to get used to it but once you are it becomes second nature. |

Call me a heathen but I love resting my arm on the center arm rest while shifting. Actually for the entire drive - one of the reasons why I would never get a CS LOL

Perhaps, we are just built differently, perhaps if I had DCT I wouldn't worry about it too much. I'm in the middle of building a new arm rest, hope to have it done soon. I wouldn't get a CS either, not just this reason but for many haha.

Question though, your shifts are faster but you still have to wait for the RPM's to drop when upshifting - any plans for your CDV or tuning out the RPM delay?

I've grown quite fond of prime lenses over zoom ones. I really do love the depth of my 135mm. |

The shifts have been very quick, I haven't felt/noticed a difference is up/downshifting in regards to rpms. I ordered a UCP along with my CAE but haven't looked into the RPM delay though. |

This morning I finally finished a DIY project and am pretty happy with how it turned out. When I thought about this project I didn't want to just do a delete, that's too easy. I also wanted to keep it functional, at least as functional as I could and as OEM as a I could as well.
First I bought a spare armrest from an F22, mainly because it was the cheapest I found vs an actual M2/M2C especially since all i needed was a base. First thing was rip apart the entire assembly, shave the everything so you're left with something like this. Don't mind my Bumble PJs (I love Christmas). I used a few different things to make the outline of the the arm rest including lexan/cardboard with a bunch of trial and error. Since this isn't my first time making an arm rest or cut out, I have some experience which helped me out. So after some time I got everything to my liking and made my final cuts, sanding and prep for this final result. Materials used:

Ok. So quick update on the build, I've been on the hunt for a good rear diffuser. Since Varis doesn't make one for the M2/C, although I think I may be able to mate a Varis one from the M4. That's a future project that I'll look into later on.
So my search went on and on, OEM M Performance is an easy option because it's OEM and I know quality/fitment would be there. I didn't like the design, the fins were too small for my liking. I looked at RKP, but didn't it looked off with the 3 fins and shorter fins on either side. There were a few other euro companies that had good designs but not many reviews on fitment and quality etc. SO....My diffuser of choice was one I thought I'd never go with. Autotecknic. The only one that had a design that I was after and that caught my eye. To my surprise, fitment is 100%, no gaps, fitment issues, etc. I was blown away with how well this looks in person and fits. My biggest concern was fitment. If the clear starts to have issues down the road, I'll just re-clear it if needed. Not the end of the world. Here are a few pics of it on.
