metrickid you have the MP suspension: How much lower is your car on the pictures? 1cm or more? It sits perfectly imho. The IND M2 in another thread sits way too low imho. We're here in Europe where they used to drive horse and carriages and so are some countryroads/streets downtown: Medieval ... PITA when hearing the frontbumper hitting the streetsurface. Had it with my stock 1M twice a month or so overhere...

I'm thinking about lowering it probably max 1cm just for the look of it. Eibach springs should do the job.

Cheers

I don't know actually as I didn't collect the car until everything was installed. But if you measure the distance from fender to bottom of the wheel it is now 595 mm up front and 600 mm in the rear for me as per BMW install instructions. The instructions said to have 2x 75kg in the car when doing the measurements but it doesn't change that much so if you measure your car as it is you'll get the idea on how much it is lowered.

A 'drop' is excluded for mine. Otherwise I will damage the underside of the front bumper in some places.

Reposting this info: stock ground clearance (from higher to lower):
  • BMW M2 = 123mm or 4.84in (source: here)
  • BMW 1M/M3/M4 = 120mm or 4.72in (sources: here, here and here)

I have a lot of speed bumps where I live that are no problem at all but there are some inclines I can't drive on but other than that it is all good as it is a reasonable drop recommended by BMW. Should be drivable for everyone if you just use your brain.

I just measured my car (stock) for grins and am at 622 up front and 615 rear. That seems odd that the front would be higher than the rear when the BMW recommendation with the coilovers is just the opposite (as I would expect it to be).

I can only guess but with the new parts the different rake might be beneficial?

At Cars and Coffee today. This isn't actually my picture, but it is my car. We had an awesome caravan down today with a few M3s, a 997 Carrera S, GTR, and a GT3RS.

People have said I have the same problem. It's not our fault though.

You're not doing the fries correctly. I wouldn't call them terrible, but you have to know exactly to how to make them.
  • Extra toasted
  • Chilis
  • animal style
