Cool color but WTH doesn't BMW have capability to paint a car any color they want in Leipzig.

I guess on the other hand if there's people willing to pay 30,000 bucks to swap colors, there is no reason BMW would have more color options for the Leipzig plant.

Nice! I saw the 991.2 GT3 RS in this color in a magazine two years ago. I believe only 1 was build! Personally for the CS, I would have chosen Donington or Singapore Gray w black wheels.

I am one of the 'swallowers' too (indigestion remained for a while LOL). Was difficult to accept but ultimately YOLO prevailed, which is what PAG was banking on in the first place. The nearly triple price did not dissuade ppl and factory could not keep up demand and PTS window was closed swiftly (only to reopen for a short while right before EOP). At least my paint came out well vs some of the poor PtS jobs I've seen/heard of. Turns out it was the only such color ordered for the model so at least it retains the uniqueness. With that said, color is a personal matter and what ppl pay for exclusive paint is what others won't take even if it were a no-cost option...

I personally always liked bright greens (Gelb Grun, somewhat similar to Birch, was on my top-3 list, but decided against it expecting many to chose it, which ended up being the case, plus seeing Schmee's car later on was the ultimate no-go ) Nothing wrong with bold cars wearing bold colors, the CS wears it well IMO...

I’ve never understood why BMW doesn’t allow a limited Individual menu for cars produced at the Leipzig plant. For example, they should allow people to request their M2 be painted in any color they use on regular 2 and 1 series produced there.

If the assembly line can paint your M2CS black, and the next 128i in Estoril, the technical capability is there clearly. Why isn’t BMW capitalizing on this with a $1,200 surcharge or similar?

No need to allow other fancy Individual customizations (interior, scripts, etc). Just exterior paint. I’d love to see an insider explain this.

An M2 in Valencia Orange, Midnight Blue or Sparkling Brown when they were in the F22 lineup would have been amazing!

That's some BS right there...I had an allocation for a CS and I asked them to paint the car in Sunset Orange...A COLOUR THEY ALREADY USE AT LEIPZIG ON THE M2C...and BMW told me to go jump in the lake...instead, I jumped into a GT4.

It would be cool if they did this, like getting an M340i in IoMG...

Offering M car buyers the option of a few more colour choices for an additional cost would be nice, not the bland 'frozen' colours either but bold glossy colours. Not everyone wants black, white & 50 shades of grey. Something similar to the latest G80/82 offerings would be good start for the upcoming G87.

Wrap possible ?

I wonder if anyone one this thread has done a M2 wrap where a similar effect / colours scheme been created or are you never going to get that deep shine that has been created here ?

I dont see you getting that sort of finish from vinyl.
I had my roof professionally wrapped in a quality gloss vinyl but its nowhere near the finish of a good spray job.
The other issue i have with a wrap is the moment you open doors, hood, boot & you see flashes of the original colour, it just looks tacky. Yes you can strip the car & fully wrap it all but if your going that far you may as well do it properly & just respray it.
Love that birch green, just needs black wheels.

Car looks great! I'm biased though. I have a 991.2 Birch green manual GT3.

Why a Porsche color? BMW has so many historic colors to choose from such as Macao or Estoril blue perhaps?

It's called Autoflex Gloss. Sprayed on, more protective than PPF, can be washed waxed or ceramic coated, and in any color.

I've parked this next to numerous M3/4 CS, M6, Etc. In San Marino and even BMW dealers can't tell the difference unless I tell them. It's 9 coats, and is rich and deep. And one heck of a lot cheaper than a full repaint (or even a labor intensive wrap).
