Now that fall is here - Easy way for Autumn leaves removal

Do you get leaves falling into the wiper gap when parking near deciduous trees? The cheapest/simplest solution I found is to buy a $3 pipe insulation tube from your local hardware store and tuck it into the crevice as follows:

Here's what it looks like after one night:

Just pull it off before each drive. I hope you find this useful.

I would be more concerned about what the inside of your grille looks like! Hard to get items out of there.

Just drive fast on the highway. 90% of them blow right out, no?

Only problem is you have to remember to remove it every time you drive or it will restrict air escaping the engine bay and create a pressure build up which is never good for cooling or for preventing your hood from popping up at high speeds (should be unlikely because we have double latched hoods).

Otherwise not a bad idea for people who part outside.

Correct, you must remember to take it off, and you will learn to do so after you drive off with it the first time (ask me how I know). The leaves become an issue particularly when they are wet, and it's worth it to keep them out of that crevice as much as possible.

I'm happy I live in a city and park where there are no trees. Also park where there are no telephone lines, so rarely do I get bird poop too.

More than a decade ago though, I had to park under a pine tree. Hood ended up covered in sap during whatever season that happens in.
