Yeah, PUMA for this. My car is going in next week for this.

I have that as well. Any idea where the tape was placed? Is it visible when you lift the covers?

My car is barely 2 months old with 1600 miles on the clock and I recently started hearing rattling somewhere in the drivers side door and somewhere on the passengers side like in the center console or near that area. Haven't pin pointed either one yet.

If it is a metal-sounding rattle coming from the back then it is probably the latch cover(s) on the rear deck. The lid is a thin plastic and I was sure it was a metal sound but, based on forum success stories, stuck a small bit of felt tape on the inside and shoved the lid closed. No more rattle.

Something rattling in the rear headrest or seatbelt area.

When i place my hand on top of the latch cover it stops making the noise so i know for a fact I've already narrowed it down to the passenger side. It only happens during cold starts for me so it's not that bad, but i still want to get rid of it. I've tried putting velcro tape inside in various areas and it doesn't help. It appears that putting weight on it from the outside with my hand is the only thing that stops it. That's why I was specifically asking where inside the latch cover does the tape go. Simply saying that some tape goes on the inside hasn't been helpful. Some pictures would be awesome.

See if this helps. Basically over the outside latch which eliminated the rattling by reducing space in the latch but requires a bit more force to close due to the tighter fit.

Thank you, that was very helpful.

I ended up putting it along the bottom because my fuzzy velcro tape was a little too thick to use on the sides:

No buzzing at all. Very happy.

Was just about to ask if anyone found and solved the rear rattle problem (I get it only when the MPE makes a certain exhaust note/frequency.

Will have to check the rear deck for those caps

What's the actual name for this?
What's PUMA?
I'm having the same problem in mine and I'm sure if I go in and say "PUMA" they'll have no idea what I'm talking about.
When I was there two weeks ago they weren't aware of any existing issue for this sound so any details are appreciated.

I have been hearing some crunky popping sound that you usually hear when car is turned off and cooling... (some sort of ticking and knocking noise).

It is there in the cabin when engine is warm and I am running mine only +700 km (roughly 450 miles)...

Does anyone have same issue??

normal... metal and other materials compressing/expanding due engine and exhaust heat.

Nothing to worry about

If an issue is not reported yet, the dealer fills out a form for submittal to BMW's technical gurus and subsequently they send back a response outlining what BMW wants the dealer to do to fix the car. Sometimes it's "replace such-and-such" and sometimes they ask for more diagnostic info.

I ran some dashcam cables and I'm suffering from a rattle from passenger side (where I ran wires). Not sure whether its my wires that I ran or its the glovebox. Anyone with input?
