Indeed, I coded an M235i (uk spec) to disable it.

Basically there is a flag for automatically enabling stop start upon engine start. Some markets as have this flag set to "active" - such as your M2.

It's worth reading the coding thread over at 2addicts, this link has been posted a few times in this thread:

http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=997749

Take a look at the cheat sheet, the flag(s) for auto stop start are within the FEM_BODY module (Row 63 on spreadsheet).

You'll need to source the latest software from those links and follow the guides.

Anybody know if the Euro MDM coding settings are the same for the M2 as the F80/F82?

I believe the F80 consensus was that only "C_Laenderkennung" set to "ECE=00" is all that needs to be changed to enable Euro MDM.

Can anyone confirm? Thanks!

Anyone out there able to help me with remote coding of my car. I have the cable but I don't feel comfortable coding it myself.

I changed the setting of "C_Laenderkennung" to "ECE=00" to enable Euro MDM. I made the same guess based off of the version of psdzdata.

The MDM is noticeably less intrusive now.

Why is start/stop such a big issue? It's totally automatic and not intrusive, I just can't see what the issue is

Well in a DCT I see it as no issue. Press brake at stop light and it will shut off, release brake its back on.

On a 6 speed I have no idea.. does it turn off when you brake and depress clutch? or what if you take shifter to neutral and release clutch and also brake because its a flat road etc etc..

I just dont see the benefit of the car shutting off/on at a stop light.

Thanks. On mine, I couldn't figure out what setting to "ECE=00" meant. I only had the typical Werte=01 setting, and the Cheat Code setting for Euro MDM just changed Werte to 00, so that's what I did.

Where did you see the actual text "ECE=00" in your coding? Thanks.

Changing the option (ECE or US) will automatically change the related werte value. Changing the werte value to a predetermined value will also cause the corresponding option to be selected.

Either way of making the change has the same result.

In a 6MT put the car in neutral and release the clutch pedal and the engine shuts off, when the traffic lights change press the clutch and the engine starts immediately, engage gear and drive off. There is no delay. If you don't want the engine to stop keep you foot on the clutch pedal.

The only thing I want to do is enable video in motion. Is there an easy way to enable just that?

Thanks

I believe the "benefit" is that BMW can use this feature to improve their car's emissions and mileage for their ratings. Maybe I am just too cynical

The M2 is not on the list. Should we go with the M235 list?
