I think it would be a nice gesture if BMW were to give a complementary model to each M2 client to apologise for the miserable color choice, the lack of a full alcantara interior, no proper sports seats, no M mirrors, no M button, no standard black exterior trim, no PSS tyres, no B58 engine with power to compete with the power output of the RS3 or the M240i, and thin paint....

Is that really a thing?

I picked up my car on a Thursday with an appointment for XPEL to be done on Monday!

Monday comes along and the XPEL installer finds 3 stone chips! 2 on the bonnet and one on the side of the front bumper!

I've never encountered this level of thin paint on my previous rides

I was running it in and never even went above 100km/h and below 4500rpms!!

Yeah. Mine collected a ridiculous amount of stone chips in a short period. It got chips like 50x faster than previous car.

I think the colour of the paint makes a difference, i drove less than 90km's and avoided all freeways and highways prior to getting PPF applied, still got 2 stone chips on my front bumper.

My Alpine White 135i i had for 3 years with no PPF, one small chip on the bonnet in all that time.

now the site says LBBs are sold out. I guess that $100 will go towards the mods.

You really like a moan and keep harping on about all these things don't you.
I got black exterior trim and PSS tyres as standard. If BMW were to give away a ?90 model with each purchase then they would of maybe added an M button or a bit more alcantara but they didn't to save money and to be able to bring home an awesome car, and one at a price point that works for them and their range, and for us, the buyers.
Just getting v tired about people still whinging about M Mirrors and B58 engines.
Enjoy your car when it arrives and buy a model if you want one to look at in the interim.

I ordered mine off the interwebs the same week I ordered the car in Sept. Car arrived in May. Model came today. Used the danhausen website and arrived via USPS via DHL. Packed very securely and even the outside packing box was in excellent shape plus packing peanuts. I am very happy with the updates they gave regarding availability and shipping along the way as well.

Do these sites ship to the Americas? I would love to pick up a small scale model to have in my office.

I prefer 1/2-inch 3M Invisible Scotch Tape. It applies easily, trims nicely with an X-Acto knife and self-repairs when my cat throws kitty litter at it.

Important questions for those who took delivery, how did you find a 1:18 dealer with an open allocation? Which dealers sell above MSRP?

How did you know which boat your car was on once you ordered?

Did your minichamps come with Michelin or Continental tires? Also do you prefer dct or 6mt when driving at 1:18 scale?

Maybe we need a poll to get to the bottom of these...
