i don't think anyone should pay over sticker. its just ridiculous. after the first 2-3 months all the fools who are willing to will have gotten theirs.

if you have a current car that you can drive, just wait it out. i mean in the end its just a car, and personally i refuse to pay over msrp and ill just wait. its not like there is only 3 months of production.

i know this sucks for people who were trying to time a lease, but i suppose that is one of the reasons i don't least so they knew that going in

I'm in CT and walked away from a #2 spot when the dealer tried the "TBD" crap with me (and got my deposit back). I still have a #4 and #2 at two other dealers at MSRP.

Got a tickle on one of them yesterday, they want me to give them a call for Options... I love me my Bimmers will probably pass as I just bought a Ford Mustang GT performance pack with Recaros.

So tempting to join the M2 bandwagon. Hesitant though because of what they may possibly release in the following years.

There's always a newer/better car on the horizon no matter how long you wait

Besides you already have a M3 and a M4, you don't need a M2, it's a redundant car.

I'm not sure that's true, actually. I'll wait to read driving impressions, but the M2 might feel quite a bit different when all is said and done.

Go drive a M235i, it's 80% the same as a M2. I did, it's very similar driving to a F80/F82. If you only had a 4 door M3 and wanted a 2 door BMW it might make sense but a M2, M3, M4 in one garage seems odd.

Are you a loyal customer of this dealership? If you are and they are trying this then it is even worse. If you have bought from them before, i would politely say...are you sure you want to do that to a customer that has spent $x with your dealership? If you aren't, tell them to take a hike and get a refund or threaten legal action. I doubt I would ever pay over MSRP. I have only paid MSRP once and that was hard enough to do.

Hmmmm. It seems odd, for sure, but maybe not because the M2 feels the same driving as the M3/M4. As for the comparison of an M235i to an M2 (which none of us have driven), there are people who would probably disagree with you as well.

I was talking to my local dealer yesterday about a 335i and I mentioned the M2, he said they had one coming in LBB. Didn't sound as if it was presold. I can put you in contact with him if anyone wants. I doubt they are looking to go over MSRP...anyway..contact me if anyone is interested. he said it was about 5 weeks out...so may be able to change options ordered at this point.
