About to hop on the train to go pick mine up. Now I just need to make up excuses to drive it places so I can get through the break-in period before it gets cold.

What color combo did you go with? Will look for your car when I'm on your side of the Potomac. Arlington here. Order went in a week ago .. still frustratingly on Step 1

Roughly $70K for the G80/82 M3/4 would normally make my stomach churn if I were locked in at this point on an M2CS . . . however, I would gladly pay the $15K difference to not have to look at the newly released M3/4 again . . . let alone think about driving the 3900lbs RWD tanks around a twisty. To think, I have been bitching about the 3600lb M2C/M2CS tanks.

I think the days of lightweight are gone unless you go more boutique with the options list. Technology seems to allow these cars to do things that you would think they shouldn't be able to do. In my opinion you can feel the heaviness during daily driving, but also can't exploit the capability. It all depends on your frame of reference. If 3600 lbs is all you know, then maybe 3900 doesn't feel so bad???

I don't think any of them will arrive with an MSRP under 85k with options, unless special ordered. The CS essentially gives us [er, forces us to buy] all the options.

Mine will be 83,600 + 550 (paint) = 84,150 + 995 destination.

What seems to be the most popular color choice? My friend has an allocation he will not be able to follow through with so I might get it from him. I assume the demand for these will be pretty high.

I'm in the same boat as you. I wonder if it is the blue with steel brakes for some reason.

Probably because it is a limited edition car with a small quantity of numbers, so they did not want to advertise something not really available.

.... And also maybe too many were already spoken for, leaving too few to make it worthwhile doing a seperate configurator

Because the plant can't accommodate other colors w/o some serious logistical headaches for BMW---- translated to they would charge you an extra $25K and you need to have very powerful friends.

No necessarily so. The M3s had individual colors for $5k(?). But if you're thinking custom one of a kind customized paint, then yes muchos dolares.

Oh I see your point now about the g8x.

My comment was about an individual m2 cs color.

Sometimes I don't even want to pay for metallic paint and I say that alpine white looks great lol.

The plant at Leipzig doesn't do individual colors, maybe that changes in the future, but not now
