The M Performance kit is well sorted out and you have the OEM attention to detail, they take time to make sure it's ok with there nvh tolerance.

I ordered my Ohlins with lower springs rates for more compliance only to discover that if I want to benefit 100% from my rates I will have to revalve my shocks. Ohlins uses the same shock valving throughout many applications. So I have the same as an M4 with 230nm springs, I run 140nm.

Is the ride essentially the same as stock at recommended settings? My hope is it can be made slightly more compliant with different settings. Totally get these are for increased performance but wondering if there is anything conclusive on improved ride quality which would be a bonus for me.

When I test drove an M-tour M2 equipped with M performance Coilovers and 763m wheels I found the ride more compliant than my stock M2.

It was stiffer but more controlled and less crashy/bouncy

Thanks! City roads are tough for any suspension but any bit of improvement helps.

Go with the BMW recommended ride heights and geometry.

I run 2 clicks softer on both ends for rebound and compression than the recommended street setting. But that's personal preference.

Double post from the general M2C section, but wanted to share on this thread as its relevant:

Before and after pics - Mperf coils installed. Then rear is maxed low, and isn't that much lower than stock. Guess we will see how this settles. I checked as many threads as I could and it's sitting to spec. Front is 595mm, 600mm rear from bottom of rim to top of wheel arc. Any thoughts for those who are in the know. Handling is outstanding as other have said without sacrificing the ride.

Did you mean "WITHOUT" sacrificing the ride?

You can adjust them - both bump and rebound - as well as the ride height. Or was that not what you were referring to?

Also, as they are KW V3 in a different colour, it's always possible to try different spring rates.

Separately. The price is about the same as KW V3, and hence, quite a bit cheaper than many (but not all) alternatives. At least, in many markets. Not where you are maybe?
@ex12psi said it in a previous thread,

" I should preference... I have the m perf coils and they are sorta lame. The spring diameter is so retarded big in the front that the required neg camber for track duty is unachievable because the damn spring hits the inside of the wheel well, stupid.

The ride height setting sucks. Running 18" track wheels, trust me you want to go lower but you can't unless you forego the rear spring adjuster perch then, wtf is the point?".

I too tried both the adjustability with the M Performance is very limited because BMW don't want you going too low so they can't get into trouble if you break something where as KWV3 you can do a lot more. Hence my point expensive and not very good. It's good if you want to keep warranty but that's about it for me.

Maybe you missed the point.
It's a compromise option for road and occasional track use and does a great job for what it's been designed for, but if you look for something focused for a track use there are other and better options. And more expensive of course
KW put the v1/2/3/4 under the Street Performance category, for double the price you can get the Clubsport and you won't be disappointed.

mperformance is very good for the track. it depends on the settings.if you want to be serius about track there is the gr00 made by Ohlins and it's 10 gs. it's a full coilover back and front

I'm sure it's posted somewhere, but I am thinking to get the M Perf coilovers. Anybody running spacers with stock wheels (788m) with the coilovers?

I might go 10 mm spacers all around, but don't mind something more aggressive as well.

What's the best price you all are paying now a days? Cheapest I found is $2197 with required hardware.

Also on stock 788 wheels but went 255/275 route, anyone running this setup have any issues with rubbing?

Price, yup. Wish I pulled the trigger from Sun Motors months back, I think it was closer to $1900 or something. Oh well

255/275/35. Absolutely. That's what I'm moving to after these stock ones wear out. I was chatting with another member on here runs that set up w/ 5mm all around, no issues. Check out his insta: am319_m2c

Given the memorial day sales, you can pickup Ohlins for around $2900. Personally I would stump up the extra to get the Ohlins as they are superior dampers overall.

Has anyone done a DYI for our M2's. There are DIYs for f80 and f82, ours should be easier since we don't have any wires connection to the struts.

This is a pretty good one

https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...hlight=install

For the M2C you will also need to take into account the additional bracing in the engine compartment

In any case, I always like to consult with this

So called my local BMW and was quoted $1050 plus $189 alignment for labor plus tax to install the MP kit. I am going to the DIY route and taking it in for the alignment. Wasn't expecting it to be this many hours for labor the kit.
